They can separate the illicit activity into as many categories as they want, but that still won't mean they're doing anything about the hordes of low level characters blatantly landing right on top of npcs for story quest progression and then watching them jump down below the floor or literally watching them fly through the air to their next destination, among other things they're seen doing. Grand companies are a revolving door for that mess and it's so painfully obvious what's going on since some of those npcs are behind a desk area that we normally can't even access.

You can't really stop those bots....

The rmt will be able to create them faster than anyone could get rid of them.
They're like the spam bots, expendable.

    Those bots aren't 'important'.
They're low effort, and getting rid of them doesn't hurt the rmt at all.
And it's trivial to see these bots on SE's side.

The accounts they want to get rid of are the ones holding the currency, and tracking those expendable bots is how you find the ones you really want to hit.

The only real way to get rid of those farm bots, is locking down the server for creation.
For a long time Balmung was completely free of those bots because no one could create new characters, rmt included.

Which probably isn't made easier by the fact that RMT can just use a company chest and have multiple accounts with access to the currency. Like, 512 per free company. Mailing to a single holding character is so last century in comparison.

What limits? The trade restrictions is bad enough in being annoying for real players (not enough item slots, many items take more then 5 materials, and if your starting from raw, some may take 10-15 different items, i think I seen an 18 item trade before to make 1 item, so 4 trades.. I mean I know it is not a big deal, but at the same time, it is a conflict of concepts. Do not make items that require that much items if you can't have enough slots in trade/ mail, just proves your system can't handle the item count you give to make things.)

while people do make multi-million gil sales though trades and fc despots is the only way not to have to make 20-50 trades for no reason. It does not stop RMT, all it does is hinder legit players. Plus having to make that many trades increases the risk of being ripped off, this is why you set something up like X amount upfront in fc chest, then trade item for 1 M, then despot the rest in fc chest, to minimize the loss encase of rip off intent for both sides.

Needing to make muti- trades to transfer the correct gil for a high value item does increase the risk of scam though. Being able do it though FC chest greatly lowers such risk, and you want to restrict that too? for what? It will not harm bots in anyway, they will still RMT while real player is like... ok now what?

I think that's just a lag issue, since I've seen it happening to people who were landing for a hunt mark, too.

I'm pretty sure bots can queue up DoH/L actions faster then actual players can, though.

Case in point, I can find 24 bots on Excalibur (only 72 players online), all button-mash style names, all in the same place, all dropping through the map.

(Redacted names, even though there's no point, I've already reported them)

Considering that "free trial" accounts are supposedly capped at level 35 and all these bots are level 36-38 right now, that means SOMEONE is paying for them.

Player search just for the recorded does not list every single player that is online currently.
