Changing your name likely did it. Dwellings are tied to character name not account as far as access is concerned.

Sorry, but I disagree. People change names all the time, if they were to lose their house/apartment/whatever every time they changed name, we would have heard much more about it.

Pretty sure apartments are under the same "45 days unentered and we'll demo it" rule. And no names aren't attached to the houses it's the character so regardless of name change you'd have still kept it.

Apartments are not under the auto-demolition rules. That only applies to ward housing.

I don't think changing your name would cause your apartment to demolish, either. I've never changed my character's name before, but I'm fairly certain if name changes caused the loss of estates/apartments, there would be a massive outrage over it. In short, we would have heard about it before now.

Yeah my last trip away from the game was much longer than 45 days and the two characters of mine with apartments both still have them. Won't for long (looking to server transfer soon), but they did when I got back.

That's half the reason I went for apartments over a house. The other being that you can't share a house with another character on your account... I don't have alts - I have 4 mains.

(and before some fool pipes in with "but one toon can be all classes", I have characters, not toons. Each has it's own race and it's own story.

this exact thing is happening to me currently. I thought I was going crazy, but I def had an apartment in Mist....nows its gone WITH ALL THE FURNITURE! ill have to contact a GM

Yep 100% sure it was not an FC room. Bought an apartment in the sultana's breath.

The picture you submitted for a contest is of a hyur female, was that you/your apartment? Perhaps an alt has the apartment? Did you have the GMs check under the previous name? Unless there is some bug that's cropping up, apartments don't disappear without manually being removed. If it is a bug, I would attempt to put together everything that was done to the account/character from when you last accessed it.

edit: Didn't look at the date of that submission, that was a bit under a year before apartments were released.

That goes for you too. If it's a bug then it will help narrow down the case similarities so they can find what's eating apartments.

Only thing I can think of is if u switched servers you would lose that apartment.

Not sure how crazy it would be to dream something like that. I've had dreams(hallucinations?) where I called my boss and told them I was too sick to come in. Wake up hours later to see missed calls and texts/voicemails asking where I was.
