That's true for everything and anything because that's human nature, not like we have a monopoly on it. Even when, iono, Lyse's outfit came on the mog station, why is it on the mog station, why is it not dyable, why is it for single chara, etc etc. Here we traded in the complaints about how to get it (if it's not through the Gold Saucer, frigging riot) to the element of surprise (everyone knows what an NPC's outfit looks like before it's on the mog store, not the case here)

I am disappointed to see that resources from SE go into things like this. How about instead of whining about glamours, they actually put that time into making better content. Think about how bad this looks from the outside. People see the ff community raging over glamours, male bunny suit glamours. Is that going to get people to play the game or take us seriously?

I definitely want the gear creation teams to start working on more mid-core combat content that will look good to people who don't even care about this game's existence. Stop making clothes so we can fight more things! Who needs to have dress-up options anyway? That ****'s for girls man! And if those professionals at SE can't pick up an entirely new skillset fast enough to satisfy the demands of the playerbase, then what are we paying them for?!

In all seriousness, a lot of people want to look good when they go out to kill stuff. Having more options is good for everyone. And yes, this whole bunny suit thing was kind of important to some of us who have male characters and see females getting lots of variety and exclusive stuff that we don't. You might not notice since you are one of the millions of people playing a female lizard character, but guys have less exclusive gender locked gear, less options in quantity and (subjective) quality to females. The bunny suit was the ultimate symbol of this inequality- girls got a fancy, sexy set to run around in and we couldn't even get the blippin' ears despite popular demand.

I feel like you don't have a horse in this race and thus don't understand our position. You see it as "wow these guys are so petty they're arguing over dress-up and I don't want to be associated with people like that", some of us see it as "SE might FINALLY be listening to us, at least a little bit, but we really need to have some honest dialogue about their thought process behind this". There's an uproar because SE didn't clearly communicate what their plans were, any sort of timeline, or anything at all other than "if we tell you we're working on it will you shut up and stop asking". It's poor management of communication and expectations on their part, which is a problem that's been noted in other issues like Eureka.

Also, at the last, who really cares about what outsiders think about us? If someone looks into FF XIV and sees this thread amidst the sea of other quality threads about rampant botting, lackluster PvP, bad dev communication, Server Limitations(tm), stale content formulas, Eureka complaints, and spaghetti code and decide that this isn't the game for them, then fine, so be it. They were probably looking for an excuse to dismiss the game anyway at that point.

I didn't read all of the post before mine but im sure they echo the same sentiment. Yay, it's a win that guys are getting the bunny suit. But, at the same time, it's the exact same suit. I was really looking forward to a true "male" version, like someone mentioned before tight vest, hot pants, smaller bow tie. I mean I'm a lala so it wont look so bad on me per se, but I'm not a fan. I feel bad saying this but I feel SE completely missed what we were getting at. But, personal preference aside, it's still a win, lol?

I wonder what the Japanese and European forms think?

Also, you can't tell me that lalas added to this development time, the male and female models are the same.

they are too busy delaying "new content" for copy/paste glams, then people wonder why it is only fate running

SE should better come up with something original that looks good and not such a stuff that maybe 1% of the players glam for a few days because they find it funny.
It's hard enough to find good glamour with Male Chars, and now there are Bunnysuits... hooray !!! v.v

Nice that males are finally getting it but there is 0 difference. If this what SE was going to do from the start, then it should have been implemented since day one.

I have to agree with this sentiment. Imagine you're at PAX East, and you've never played or even heard of FFXIV, so you go to the panel to check it out. Then you see the big reveal is some skimpy male outfits. How are outsiders supposed to take us seriously and how is the game going to grow when this is the image you're putting up at a public event like PAX.

I've been playing this game for 2+ years and this thread is disappointing to me. I don't care what you want to wear in game, but throwing such a fit because something that has been asked for for years has finally came out and it's not exactly what you wanted. It's pathetic, and makes you look like children.

I like when new glamours come out, but a lot of people in this thread seem to think it should be, or even is a priority. It isn't, and it shouldn't be, and expecting SE to prioritize glamours and other cosmetic things over actual content is foolish and harms the game as a whole.

1. Character customization is one of the game's selling points and should therefore be its strongest points
2. If you're not raiding your endgame content is seriously limited. Even if you are raiding. You're not out of things to do in the game but for most of the population that still boils down to housing (limited resource) and glamour to the point even Yoshi-P said at one point it's the true end-game.

People keep repeating "we should have gotten [insert non glamour content] instead of [glamour]". You know SE isn't 4 Japanese guys in a single cubicle, right? The people working on raids aren't the same people animating mounts, aren't the same people writing the story, aren't the people designing glamour outfits, etc.

The bunny set was shown at PAX because its pretty much become a yearly tradition for someone at PAX to ask about the status of the set. iirc, it was the first event where someone in a Q&A asked Yoshi directly for the set.
