Let me rephrase.
Almost all Final Fantasies have those types of looking weapons and when they were introduced into XIV people cried "KOREAN WEAPONS"
It would be neat to get FF character costumes for a Halloween event.
Dragon Quest 9 gives you costumes based on characters in the series when you do certain things/when it's your birthday so something similar could be done here.
Because it make money for both company you should try TF2 they have Rift and many item from other games. It's just a costume who cares and let me say it fit really good with ff13 they made it fit pretty good.So is Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Madden NFL, Modern Warfare, Battlefield, Mass Effect and so on -- Do we need costumes from those games too? I think that's the point, why bring in something from other games when your own franchise can do just as well if not better with your own creativity?
I sure they can make that fit better with THF job in ffxiv lol

I can haz now? :'(
It has been announced that FFXIII-2 will have DLC for this Ezio Costume. In my opinion, instead of one-time use in FF13, it would be better to add this into FFXIV content so we have some more goal to get this set of gears. It could fit either come as achievement prize, NM drop-craft, or raid content.

I'm not a fan (should rephrase that, I've never played Assassin's Creed, so I don't know much about it!) of Assassin's Creed, but that outfit looks like it would fit in Eorzea, and it looks pretty awesome.
To those saying that something like this does not fit in the world - this game has pretty much broken the fourth wall more than a couple of times through NPC dialogue (a good example off of the top of my head is the leve NPC that references characters with "xSephirothx" screen names). Granted, this could have a lot to do with localization, but it still exists. I agree that having a big bright red Mario hat would be a little silly, but an outfit like this would only break the fourth wall in the sense that you recognize it from another series. If I didn't know what Assassin's Creed was, and you had told me that this was Ninja or Thief AF, I probably wouldn't think twice about it.
Edit: also, if they're doing crossover armor, I'd demand that they strike a deal up with Capcom for some Monster Hunter armor (and MonHun monsters to drop the mats)! A lot of that armor would not look out of place in this world, and the monsters in that game would make awesome NMs.
