For me, it was definitely tunnel vision, lol. The fact that we both fell off at the same time made it a little less embarrassing XDWhat bad RNG luck in O8N knocks you off? I know tunnel vision can, but I don't remember ever seeing anyone randomly and unexpectedly get knocked off
Also I've made a staggering number of friends from forums. It's actually something I quite enjoy. It's a fun treat as you're well aware!

Iirc, The first phase change with the green orb can send people off if they aren't fairly close to it, and occasionally kefka can use aerial assault to push you back and depending on his placement and where you are standing you can easily fall off, I know it has happened to me when I least expect it!What bad RNG luck in O8N knocks you off? Last week when we were doing O8N, five people got knocked off by the first Graven Image. This wasn't in a PUG, almost the entire group was premade of friends and forum goers. That was actually the problem: we were chatting in Discord and goofing off. Then I noticed both tanks and mycohealer were gone. Woke up real fast.
It does happen sometimes.

I think everyone is entitled to the occasional slip lol. That would have been pretty funny to watch though.Last week when we were doing O8N, five people got knocked off by the first Graven Image. "Alright folks, doing well so f- Wait, where'd you all go...?"

It is 100% not meta to go Jolt II --> Verraise --> Jolt II --> Verraise ;-;
Felt terrible last night. I was that guy. Cutters Cry.. New to the dungeon, everyone was super helpful (they even waited for me to go get a beer in the beginning). Looked at the clock and knew I needed to be somewhere at 8pm on the dot but it was 7pm and I figured even with some deaths there's no way a low level dungeon won't be done in time.
All was going well until the sand worm. Everyone forgot about the quicksand part and we wiped. Okay one wipe isn't gonna make me late. We clear the sand worm after running all the way back and I start to realize this dungeon is way longer than I thought. It's already 7:45. I decide I'm gonna stick it out as long as possible...... then tank and healer die to a trash mob on the way to chimera (still not really sure what happened.. I look up and they are at the beginning of the dungeon making their way back and the other dps that was still with me turned around to catch up)
At this point its 7:50 and we haven't even made it to chimera. Had to pull the plug and burst out the front door. Didn't even have time to apologize. Hopefully someone see's this... this is my apology lol.

Yeah some of the raid mechanics you only see because of a chain reaction of zerg behavior results in the Alliance total DPS going down to where it hits mechanics that would normally wipe the entire alliance if people were were wearing the gear originally designed when the raid was new. It's still funny seeing Alliance wipe's to "pads pads !" mechanics, since those are instant-kills regardless of gear.This time two of the tanks decide to fight for agro at the start, and half the part is caught in a haircut. I am among them, and i die(thats a serious bleed). The tanks eventually sort it out(actually, i think two of them died and the third guy took control), and the fight goes on. When it gets to the bijou phase, half the party is down. The orbs die super slow, but she isnt given enough juice to wipe the team(as some had predicted). We never wiped, but due to the volume of people on the floor we saw phases i didnt even know she had. I saw new hair combinations, attacks i thought she only did once got repeated, and i saw people dying repeatedly(often to the same moves). How did i see all this, when im on record a page or two ago about how i sometimes tunnel vision just doing my part right and hope everyone else will do theirs you ask? I spent the entire fight dead on the ground in the middle of the arena. None of the 6 healers, nor the summoner from my group(who did his best to try and help with resses) even tried to res me once. My healers spent the last 3 or 4 mins of the fight low on mana and still trying to toss rocks inbetween heals(and deaths, and being ressed by the guys from group b).
With healing, if you have a swiftcast/party rez macro, it will rez people in the order they are in the party list. So that always puts DPS at the end unless someone is targeted. The main issue with this macro is that it's not range aware, and there are times where I'll see someone down, hit the macro, and off goes swiftcast, but not rez. So then I have to click the player and figure out where they are, turns out they are right at the opposite edge of the field in almost all circumstances, but by that time swiftcast expires. How they got there is either they were being cautious, or they were knocked back. However the game doesn't "grey out" all players from the party list if they are out of range of all casts or have no line-of-sight. The macro fortunately doesn't try to rez someone already being rez'd.
Some healers won't even use their rez casts unless they are on swiftcast, as it otherwise takes 8 seconds. So during raids you'd assume that one of the other healers should have swiftcast up, but if you spent the entire time on the floor, well that's probably tunnelvision if they made no effort to find you.

The problem is you are about as rare as one of those Orchids that blooms every 100 years. So many of us are like "wait... what just happened, the healer did the right thing?"
I am so used to anyone with agro trying to run AWAY from me... like they're Gollum and I'm Frodo and they just got the ring back... that when someone actually does the right thing there's a moment of confusion... :P
But bless you for trying. Every now and then across the many MMOs I tank in I get a healer like you and I want to lock them away under a rock somewhere and hide in a cave for the next 10,000 years talking about my Precious...![]()

And you also said you suspected them of having used the level boost. Which is it? Experienced clueless players or new clueless players? Sounds like you want to berate them one way or another.I never berate anyone in game (i will berate them out loud where only I can hear)... you're missing the point tho... qarn is a low level dungeon, you gotta be at leaste level 50 to unlock RDM, and the healer was wearing level 60 gears... both well past the level of dungeon we were in... by that point they should know things like don't stand in the orange aoe markers

Props for owning it! Makes you A ok in my book.
Oh I know HOW a player can get knocked off. That's easy lol. What I couldn't figure out is how RNG has anything to do with it. The point was to poke fun at the fact that it's not RNG that sends you off the edge, but usually a lack of knowledge/awarenessIirc, The first phase change with the green orb can send people off if they aren't fairly close to it, and occasionally kefka can use aerial assault to push you back and depending on his placement and where you are standing you can easily fall off, I know it has happened to me when I least expect it!.
Was my way of poking fun at Neph.
