That's horrible For starters, a farm party is not the time for someone to try and sneak in to get their first clear. I get that you have to get your first run in sometime, but queue through DF, make your own PF advertising a run for the clear, anything! If all members are OK with a new person coming along, cool! But it seems most try and sneak in.

Also....a farm party is meant to clear fights. :X I'm surprised the group was still together after the 2nd wipe.

Yikes, yeah I'm very much inclined to agree with this. That PF leader probably should have set the parameters for duty completed to make sure everyone in there had at least cleared the fight once, especially for something like loot farming. I'm impressed you stuck with that group for as long as you did even. I probably would have been drained dealing with them by the time forty minutes were left...

Just had a Stone Vigil for leveling roulette that got off to a rough start. I'm on NIN with a sprout NIN and a returner WAR and a WHM. We nearly wipe (I lived) when the tank tries to pull one of the aevis from the first room, and we somehow got the whole pack that bee lined straight for the healer. Anyway, the healer disconnects intentionally and I get to talking with the other two. I show the WAR how to draw the aevis without the extra stuff and get it into the hallway, and give the ninja tips about using Shadow Fang and their ninjutsus. Wellp, with no healer queueing in prog, I tab to Discord to enlist a friend who happened to be online to heal for us. With a few tips along the way, the rest of the dungeon goes smoothly. Seriously, WHM, why quit just because of a single wipe? >_>

This is my experience with every wipe. Healer always leaves. Like damn sorry we are wasting your precious time...

Goodness, that many wipes before even getting near the end wouldn't be acceptable in a clear party let alone farm...

I spent an entire hour in the Vault for leveling roulette (as dragoon) - about half of it wiping out to Charibert after a decent run up to that point.

Basically we'd get to the same point every time - clear the fireballs, move into the hectic stage of the fight, 50/50 chance I die and get raised around then, either way the healer is soon dead at that point and we wipe. (We have the two-bar limit break at that point in the battle, but as the only melee DPS I never get a good time to use it - I'm either weakened from a previous raise or he just has too much health left versus the state of our party, and using it now will mean we don't have it next time.)

Overall we made it through, and nobody quit, but it was such a relief to finally get out of there.

Yes, as long as you don't use the limit bar(aside from 8 and 24man raids - the limit bar drains at each boss fight for these, as well as trials/things that reset completely) you retain whatever build you have on it after a wipe.

Been having a lot of bad runs recently, but yesterday I had a really amazing Dzemael Darkhold run on an alt.

Loaded in, and immediately saw in chat from the tank "Hey, I'm new here." Along with someone else (I think it was healer, might have been my fellow DPS) going "ugh, why this". I too felt the same, but at least it wasn't Aurum Vale, so there was that.

Despite this, people stayed and the newbie tank actually listened to what we said. "Stay in purple" pre-first boss. "Bring boss to purple and keep it here until the purple dies, then move him to another purple". "Avoid the edges because these toads are jerks" (I actually worded it in a way that I don't plan on repeating here). "Feel free to help with killing crystals if you want to" (which he did!)

It was seriously the cleanest Darkhold run I've had ever. There were no typical wipes either during the first pre-boss trash or in the party killer post-first boss.

I also had a Titan story run on a whole other alt that was amusing. Myself and the healer joked about getting hit by the landslides and jumping off the platform (as tank had asked if anyone needed tips on mechanics since this alt was new). Then the NIN got landslided off. To which I followed up with "well there's the first to get booted", which tank was like "I don't like how that was said".

But we all had a laugh at the NIN's comment about how they should have worn heavier armor (as their glam was a typical female glamour). All in all, it was a really laid back run, and I enjoyed being able to laugh and joke about stuff with other people who can equally laugh and joke about something.

Byakko Farm that wasn't.

I've been doing PF too in hopes of getting the totems. When the FC does it, it's like butter, but we're almost never on all together and these things take a lot of advanced notice. But nearly all the 'Farm' parties I've been to have really been clear parties, with the posters being purposely vague in hopes of drawing in experienced people. With that said, even with the FC we usually wipe a time or two at the beginning until we remember all the crap but I've left parties for the same reason. Once you're down to 10-15 minutes there's little point--especially in a 'Farm' party. :/

Got Chrysalis in trial roulette today. First attempt was a wipe where the boss was attacking us while invisible for a while, just like in Eureka, lol. We died in the portal, with nobody attacking the tear and all the DPS trying to eat meteors.

This is probably where you expect me to say that people rage quit, or yelled, or something. But no! We explained the mechanics and what to do, and flattened it on the next attempt. Couple people got their first clears and it was all very polite.

Just finished my 50/60 roulette as my worst tank(WAR). When it popped it was already 24min in, so I thought I was in for a LOT of trouble.


After it finished loading, saw that they were just at the second boss(Keeper of the Lake) and that there was a new player bonus. Expected there to be trouble..but there was none. Clear it easily, move onto the mobs afterwards and have no issues(the SCH was a returner - and a reliable healer - who hadn't cleared it before, and the NIN might have been new or just didn't have auto-skip for scenes they've seen on). Asked if they needed an explanation for the final boss, they said please, quick explanation later we go ahead and start.

Came VERY close to a wipe. Probably 1/2 second before it would have been too late we were able to pop the bubble up for the second ultimate the boss does...I was honestly surprised(since the bubble appeared just as the cast finished) that we didn't end up in a wipe due to the "timing"(server ping).

So Wilhelm White and I met for first time in game today. We ran Sigmascape (I had already done it for the week but figured what the hell - new friend - I'll help) - he's a damn good white mage so I rolled white mage as well knowing id have a good teammate.

Sigmascape v4 - We had a decent party make up - already on landing we get a dark knight and warrior warning they are not so great...warrior was "slightly" squishy..but held his own. Dark knight actually did surprisingly well as both myself and poor wilhelm got treated like rag dolls and blown off the platform numerous times due to bad RNG luck and tunnel vision.

Yet through the whole affair the one red mage went MVP and ver-raised us back up...we managed to recover and beat kefka to a pulp with little frustration and pain once we got good footing.

Gotta say...wilhelm is a great white mage to have in your party. He thought I was pretty good too. Nice to play with fellow forum posters hehehe.
