I really did not think people be this split on this, some can't really see why this message is pointless and why it will annoy some? While others are talking about options to disable the warnings, then some agreeing with me.

One thing that is a bit off topic but something that bugged me with the idea of general warning messages is upgrading weapon or something. Since SE gives us so little armory room (1 weapon/tool per job) how come I need to change job to upgrade the item, since realistically I would not have 2 weapons for one job outside a relic in progress, then when I go UPGRADE the item, not buying new mind you, a warning appears telling me I am not on the job for it??? I am not on the job for it because i can't be? come on, there is a such thing as too much you know?

One last note for those not getting this issue, I would not be here if I find it "small" and "petty" I have a post quota per day I have to abide by, and ofc I did expect some to not get it, just not this many. So I knew I would have to comment to such PoV. Even with that I did come here to talk about it, knowing something like this would happen. So yes it does matter to me, and I do not mind giving some error messages or warnings but at the same time, SE overdoes it and I do not know why or even understand why. In my view the ones telling me to "deal with it" are simply saying this because it is there (i/e would not be arguing for such a message if it was not there) So I need to ask, you never really question why something exists or if it is needed? Just acct anything as is?

Honesty it was because of the diadem 3.0 place that really annoyed me with this, every NM i had to kill for exp made me see this pointless message, and giving I find the place irritating to begin with, these 2 issues compounded itself with me.

when i capped for the week i can do NOTHING with that information, regardless of wich content i am doing. when i have capped the 2000 maximum okay, but the weekly 450?

i mean i am fine with the chat message that i didn't got the tomes. but in case of the beast tribes where i have to confirm the hand in everytime when the weekly limit is capped... that's super annoying.

Your tomes are capped! Do you really want to enter the final boss-room of this dungeon? Yes / No
Your tomes are capped! Do you really want to credit for this NM kill? Yes / No

And has a very hard time understanding the concept of staying on topic..let alone melodramatic argumentation.

Does he have a valid point? Yes...but comes across as a 4 year old temper tantrum.

The message is annoying...but its just a message...and I forget its even there as soon as I see it...there are for more important things to worry about. Like upgrading the glamour dresser to be something more useful. (More plates/tie in to jobs, etc)

From what I can tell devs put things like this in place so that nobody can turn around sometime down the line and contact GM’s with reports like ‘my tomes went into the void because I was capped’
If they have it there then they can ensure that they don’t need to take responsibility for tomestones lost because the player was capped upon receipt.
It’s like a fail-safe to make sure they don’t have hundreds of players sending in reports about tomestones they could’ve received later. It may sound strange that someone would submit such a report, but with a larger player base comes a larger responsibility to ensure players are aware that they may not be able to receive certain time-limited currencies.
Think of it like a wet floor sign. You can (mostly) tell if a surface is wet just by looking at it, so the sign may seem redundant in theory. But having it there means in the event that someone does end up slipping, the floor-wetter doesn’t have to take responsibility

Then that is the player's fault. The player needs to be attentive to that and keep track of how much they have so they can either spend it or do w/e. The currency menu exists for a reason, use it.

Speak for yourself. I don't give a hoot about the glamour dresser. This on the other hand is something that actually affects stuff I actually do (and particularly makes beast tribe dailies more annoying to do when I'm already 450/450. Like someone else pointed out... what does the game expect me to do, not hand in my *daily* quests until next week?)

Removing this message/popup should also be such a trivial task that it really wouldn't be cutting into development time for other things, so the whole "either or" standpoint you're trying to adopt is inherently silly.

For a game that tries to tell you that you can play any job you want, it sure as heck tries to limit your progression.

Perhaps there should be a weekly cap on Tank/Heal/DPS so if you hit your cap in one category you can switch to another.

This would also incentivize people to play tanks.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

lol, you cant spend it, that is the thing, you are limited to 450 a week, there is nothing we can do to make the message go away.

What are you talking about? there is a thing in the currency menu that says 450/450. So my question is really not answered. Are you suggesting people will blindly do experts and compain why they did not gain anything when the currency tab says 450/450 for the week? I tend to check...? or you can just have a message in log " 0 tombstones of xxxx obtained due to weekly cap" I do not need a red message with that sound every time I do something?

How does a warning on a weekly cap being spammed to you 10+ times a day necessary?

It is not the same thing. You are given tools to see your currency tab, and the wet sign is there to make it easy to see the full area. One might see some of it, but not how far it extends and slip. So if we take the wet surface analogy, it would be like someone standing there repeating the floor is wet every 30 minutes as you look for things to buy, it would get on anyone's nerves.

Agreed. It is not like you can hold 3 days worth of tribes and wait for the turn over.

    I thought so.

Oh and before the "I don't get tome stones" excuse comes in to the picture - then that's your fault...not the game. If your cap'd...your cap'd. End of discussion. You should still get currency/ventures/reputation points from beast tribes regardless.

What it comes down too is your annoyed over a message reminding you that your cap'd...to say it affects you that badly is a bit of a melodramatic overtone.

I'm not against a check box of course to turn it off....but this is a bit over the top in my honest opinion.

So to use your own statement "Speak for yourself"
