Not true, EA got into trouble with Gamers because they locked actual progression & advantageous items behind Loot Boxes, very different to as cosmetic only item.

Complaining about cash shop emotes is silly when SE also provides free emotes.

I missed this earlier but feel the need to comment because of how grossly disingenuous this comparison is. EA caught the immense flack they did due to building the entire progression system of Battlefront around lootboxes. People whine over grinding relics in Eureka? Battlefront demanded an order of magnitude longer—necessitating over four thousand hours or $2,100 to unlock everything. And unlike FFXIV, this wasn't merely cosmetics but progression itself. An equivalent would be if these aforementioned grinds or costs were tied to tomestones. Imagine Stormblood released with a i410 set you either had to grind thousands of hours to acquire or watch someone buy it from the Mogstation and stomp all the content you're still struggling with. That is a Final Fantasy game made by EA.

But yes, let's compare a $12 emote to four thousand hours of essentially grinding Atma.

You realize this emote's animation is already in the game right? Play a summoner and get to LB3. Boom. Teraflare emote. Heck they actually stripped the wings that come in the LB3 version.

You can literally never obtain cash shop items, with out cash. They at least pretend you can. WoW at least allows you to get free months at a set sub. F2P games allow you to earn cash shop currency in game. Someone was going over the Tera cash shop as its due on PS4 soon. While I first thought the per character thing was garbage on SE part it seems that others do it as well. It doesn't matter to me that the price may be different it is all obtainable in game, even if it is a roundabout system. And don't complain its RMT because SE does nothing about people selling cash shop gifts. If they built the system to allow trading of cash shop items in game I would also feel that's fine.

I actually don't care about the emote.I care about, the defense of SE pricing structure is (insert word here). They reuse in game, assets(sleipnir anyone), they rent "RENT", inventory, they again rent ah space, they design quest line to promote skip potions, they multi tier their sub, they complain they are short staff. It honestly is what it is. Their toys their rules, but you don't have to pretend that they are the best kid in the class room. They are the kid with the toys and you put up with their abuse because no one else has the same type of toy you can find.

I cannot say this enough, Time is the only true currency you have in this life and you have NO idea how much of it you have to spend. If you think saying "well if you really wanted it you could spend 3k hours getting it OR pay 12 dollars" is a fair deal, I don't think we'll agree on anything. If you make minimum wage in my area you could have made 27 thousand dollars in that time. Value your time appropriately because nobody else will do it for you.

While technically you're correct at least 1 person has to buy the cash shop item with cash in order to get said item, you can however gift said cash shop item instead and therefore it's possible to get cash shop items via a trade or even possibly able to buy with money in game for said item, I would imagine it's not considered RMT because you're not actually buying gil straight and the actual money goes to SE.

He was an optional boss in FFV with no real relevance, and in FFXIV he's completely unrelated to the Isle of Val; he's literally on the other side of the planet. Putting a Bahamut emote in Eureka would be the same as putting Bahamut emote in Squadrons.

If the new emote were to be literally anywhere besides mogstation, it would be in ultimate coil. And then you'd complain that it shouldn't be locked behind content you can't complete, and that it should be on Mogstation.

You just want everything given to you, thinking just because you pay the monthly subscription fee, you're entitled to all the content regardless of your ability to actually complete it.

What do fireworks have to do with Eureka? Nothing, yet they are still a reward from lockboxes. The point you are trying to make here has fallen flat on its face.

...but anyway, as far as an Ultimate Coil reward...I don't see the issue there. In an expansion or 2 a lot of people will come back when it's easier, but for now and for awhile, the rewards available from Ultimate will be special.
