If you actually went through what I said you would have known I said they mention it in the journal but I won't take that. This has been discussed on the lore forums and people have basically agreed that there are too many situations where "getting your friends" wouldn't make sense. You could say we bring friends to fight Zenos but that wouldn't make sense lore wise when he wants to fight you 1-on-1 because everyone else is weaker than him so bringing friends wouldn't work. The same for the trial you do in the Steppe (the dungeon). The journal says "bring your friends" when it's a trial to see if you are worthy and you need to go by yourself so that makes no sense.

I'm not saying all are done by just us but you need to look at the story and think "would this make sense?". For some of them I can see us bringing people but some of them I can't.

I will note that lore-wise I believe only the English version of the game makes ANY fourth-wall-breaking references to adventurer friends during Susano's bit (not sure on other parts), with one NPC saying something along the lines of "maybe a bunch of adventurer friends who just so happened to travel to the Far East are conveniently nearby to help you?!", and a fairly tongue-in-cheek comment during at least one other duty when you are absolutely supposed to be alone.

I think canonically we should be doing all of this solo, save for Cape Westwind, The Praetorium, and Castrum Meridianum. Otherwise it's just too convenient, us traveling with a completely random set of strangers who happen to be blessed with the Echo and just as powerful (or more powerful if we go based on skill), who keep changing (duty roulette). In SB the devs started making amends for that by having more instanced duties with our NPC buddies (which I actually enjoy more, to be honest - it's fun watching them run around yelling things! Although also a bit frustrating because they just aren't the WoL so we have to make up for their weaknesses), but we are required in places to have a pretty strong suspension of disbelief.

Let's remember that the real danger from primals comes from the tempering effect and less on their overall destructive power... the company of hero's took down titan and only mentioned struggling because people kept getting tempered by him... zenos has raw power and only fights the strongest opponents... he's been a warrior since birth... our gifts are great vs aetheric enemies but don't help a whole lot vs someone like zenos

This is a fallacy. Katanas were made from inferior steel and were folded a thousand times becuase it reinforced the metal. A Katana is no better than a regular sword.

I should know what I'm talking about. I myself commissioned a genuine katana in Hingashi for 18,400,000 Gil and have been practicing with it for almost 6 months now. I can even cut slabs of allagan steel with my katana.

Hingashi smiths spend years working on a single katana and fold it up to a million times to produce the finest blades known to mankind.

Katanas are thrice as sharp as Eorzean swords and thrice as hard for that matter too. Anything a longsword can cut through, a katana can cut through better. I'm pretty sure a katana could easily bisect a Paladin wearing full plate with a simple vertical slash.

Ever wonder why Garlemald never bothered conquering Hingashi? That's right, they were too scared to fight the disciplined Samurai and their katanas of destruction.

So what am I saying? Katanas are simply the best sword that the world has ever seen, and Zenos; master of the blade, is thus the best swordsman ever seen.

It's been a while, but I remember that fight starting with you doing normal damage. Zenos then pops a CD, and all of a sudden he's mitigating 95% of the damage you're dealing. IIRC, if you get him down low enough, to maybe 90-92%, he just ends the fight Maat-style.
