I think having the danger is interesting, just the counterplay is really off. If say you want to take out the mob like a good player because you don't want more people getting cleaved then you're lowering your participation with the NM. What if your group is busy trying to help clear mobs that they end up getting a lower participation score? So it ends up with people not really doing much to the mobs. Then there's people who intentionally just bring mobs to mess everyone up which definitely shouldn't happen.
