oh, montly fee, or subscription... people seem to have a missunderstanding what they pay the fee for.

you don't pay the subscription for any content. you pay to access the servers. that's it.

all the content, every patch, is included in the main game and the expansions. i could stop paying my subscription for the next year, renew it then and bam i get all the content patches from the last year for "free".

Didn't S/E just hand out three unqiue emotes to players recently?
They are trying to sell one emote that was tied to a statue that not really many player want it.
This does not justify your rage.
Mogstation is a lot better off than WoW's cash shop.
WoW cash shop is just bunch of re-skinned mounts or pets
S/E is not even close to the EA's level

No, I'm still playing the rest of the game and enjoying it, I'm just not spending hours doing something I DON'T want simply because something I do want is locked behind hours and hours of stress.

I guess I'm also assuming this would have been in the game in the first place without the cash shop. Nope. So in this case I should have said : 12 dollars for a fancy emote, or no money for nothing. Those are the choices here.

of course square is using the money from the subscriptions to make the content patches. or in other words: they use the money to provide a service wich you have already bought with the expansion.

what you pay for and what square use the money for are two different things ^^

but technically you get the expansion and the whole 4.x patch series and every content and stuff wich is included in these for like 40 bucks (or whatever it costs in $... in germany it's 45€).

my rage is we pay a sub for the game, to pay each month the developpers, and we have to pay more and more, where except wow and FFXIV, all other MMORPG (only those before wow opened the pandora's box so...) didnt need the cash shop... the subscription did the work...
It did the work for about 5 years on WoW, 1 year on FF (yep... the cash shop was a little more than 1 year after FFXIV:ARR release, and the game already made good profit to SE)

What does that have to do with the subscription?
I can see people complain about it is being a little pricey, but there is always promotion sales.

Your rage is not making sense at all.
S/E originally is just going to keep Maid't attire as JP region only exclusives because Seven-Eleven paid them to make the outfits.
It is English player base that literally begging S/E to port it on the mogstation.
Same goes many region locked outfits.
If S/E is that greedy like EA, we would see those outfits on mogstation right away.

The FFXIV digital stuff bind to the physical shop is a fully different subject for me.

I don't mind having the cash shop and putting stuff in it I GUESS. But considering this is a sub game.... they really need to bring these prices down. I would accept $2 USD for the emote. $5 at the MOST. $12 is just shockingly ridiculous.... Same goes for outfits. I see no reason why they should be charging us $18 for exclusive mogstation outfits. I would accept $8 - 10 for this.

Mounts are ridiculous too! There's no way in hell that I'm spending ...what was it, $30 for account wide mounts? lol. Get outta here with that nonsense, SE.

Now, I DO spend money in the mog station even though I think the prices are ridiculous but as they keep putting out more and more stuff at these high prices, I'm starting to dig my heels in. A few expensive items are ok but they're really milking it at this point and we're not even seeing the benefits of the cash shop. We aren't getting better content, just more of the same. I want higher quality cutscenes - AT LEAST matching the quality of 1.0. I want better freaking textures. How hard is that? Come on. I want better graphics in general. I want better delivery. I don't even care if you can't make super new and refreshing content but at least put more focus on the aesthetics and delivery of that content. I'm getting really disappointed with this..
