Do these same people also happen to have a source on Yoshi-P actually saying this?
The catch up patches usually have an easier step, to have the weapon catch up with the raid gear, like the 5 aether oil step for the anima weapon.

They gave none, so ye should've said it's a rumor, but a note the aether oils were in 3.25, umbrite came with 3.3 release

Keep in mind too that this was delayed a bit longer than HW relics. So, we may still be in the starting phase, or we could be heading into a "catch up" phase. It's hard to say at this point. I'm more inclined to believe that the next part will be a catch up phase, given the tedious grind of our current steps and how long it has been delayed for.

Well, people don't seem to get tired to claim that the grind is actually very easy this time around, even calling it the easiest relic to date and whatnot, provided you "play Eureka right". That doesn't exactly lend credence to the idea that the next step will be lenient to compensate.
The delay probably will only result in one step of the relic being cut from production. That would be very convenient for SE.

Easy? Yes. Tedious? Also yes. The relic grind has never been that hard by any means. The hardest it has been was requiring Titan HM completion. Relics have always just been time consuming and tedious beyond that step. You may be correct that it might be more of a grind in the next phase, but it's hard to say at this point. If we're moving from blue weapons/armor to purple...then it will more than likely be a bit more of a grind than we currently have, but anything is possible.Well, people don't seem to get tired to claim that the grind is actually very easy this time around, even calling it the easiest relic to date and whatnot, provided you "play Eureka right". It's hard to say yes, it might also be that they shifted the grinding aspect to the levelling instead to the actual relics, since ppl had the feedback in the past that they would've liked to get a reprive on subsequents relics after completing oneKeep in mind too that this was delayed a bit longer than HW relics.
