    So many players ITT are saying they've started liking Eureka more after reaching the high levels. Makes me wonder what the reception would have been like if we started at the elemental level people like most. I didn't hate the original Diadem or the second version but I do dislike Eureka and the leveling system is the reason. I don't see why making everything so frustrating in the beginning was necessary.

    Close to 20 now and it is not "rewarding" to finally be able to travel and fight monsters of the appropriate level the way I've already been able to in the open world. Making it more tedious to fate grind and then easing the tedium seems like a weird way to make us enjoy fate grinding. Oddly it worked on some people, good for them I guess. Hopefully this leveling grind doesn't carry on to the next part. They could make the map full of level 20-25 mobs and just let us start at level 20 with more focus on interesting mechanics (weather, elemental affinity, spawn conditions, fight mechanics, quests) and less on overcoming arbitrary gates.

    So, what do you guys think of the hotfixes?

    ◆FINAL FANTASY XIV HotFixes (Mar. 27, 2018)◆

    ■The following changes have been made to The Forbidden Land, Eureka.
    ・The Chain Bonus for chains 5/10/15/20/25/30 have been increased.
    ・The experience gained when defeating a monster with one or two players has been increased.
    ・The priority of displaying certain Notorious Monsters has been adjusted.
    ・The “Ensnare” ability used by some monsters has been changed to “Expell”.

    ■The rewards received from Anemos Lockboxes has been adjusted as follows.
    ・Eurekan Potions have been added as a reward.
    ・The drop rate of fireworks items have been decreased.

    ■The following items are no longer untradeable.
    ・Eurekan glamour items / Wicked Winds Whisper Orchestrion Roll / No Quarter Orchestrion Roll

    ■The following issues have been addressed.
    ・In The Forbidden Land, Eureka, the draw-in effect of the Predatorial Instinct ability used by the Notorious Monster Polyphemus would sometimes take a moment to register, making it impossible to avoid 10,000-tonze Swing.
    ・Under specific conditions, using the Eternity Ring would teleport the player outside the map.
    ・The potency listed on the help text for the Dreadwyrm Trance action was incorrect.

    Big no on that one. I feel like you're making this a give and take comparison but it's flawed. Making gear harder to get will also affect the people who already finished leveling. You're just making this place a longer grind than it has to be. The way things are now, by the time I'm 20 I've gotten a lot of small awards along the way, be it lockboxes or pieces of gear, and that keeps me going. I need to be level 19 for Pazuzu feathers? Fine, by then I've gotten all the weapons I want to upgrade up to +2 and I've gotten some dyable glamour bait besides. The gear is the award, not the level, so I'd rather they kept it as-is (granted with other QoL changes)

    Need to test the effect of experience in solo, but imho I don't see the fix for level discrepancy which is one part of the problem with starting late.

    I don't get the wording for the chain bonus, either it implies now that they have added chain 5/15/25 or they have alwaus existed hidden

    They are something, but needs ofc more

    I'm one of those people. I'm really enjoying Eureka now, but the start was so frustrating. I almost quit after going in the first couple of times and getting nowhere. Fortunately, I wanted the dino mount and I've a stubborn streak a mile wide so that combination helped me stick with it (no mount yet).
    If they had just made it easier at the start, I think the reception would have been a lot more positive.
    I just hope they don't respond to the negative feedback with a simple nerf further down the line. The first 3 or 4 levels were too hard imo, but the mid to upper levels feel just right.

    Overall, I think the hot-fixes are a move in the right direction.

    I saved 800 lootboxes for the change to them, in hopes of getting the mount. Out of 800 boxes I only got 1 rare item, a minion that you can buy off market for 10k. So now I've opened over 2k boxes and no mount. >_> Apparently I haven't "earned" it by SE's standards, yet everyone in my FC and my circle of friends of 6 people all have it and got it within 100 boxes.

    Exactly how I feel. Got up to 11 now, and it's far less annoying. More things give rewards, there's more ways to contribute, teleports make getting around less tedious, and it's just an all around better experience. I even seem to be gaining levels FASTER now, on top of gaining items way faster (which was expected).
