What's your first impression of Eureka?

Off topic, I am always wondering why people want to solo in a "massive multiplayer mmorpg".
What are they thinking?

Probably to do with fact this isn't an long running MMO series people want experience the entirety of Final Fantasy even means have play a MMO FF, same with those who probably solo through Elder Scrolls Online people who enjoy the Single Player games want to experience more in the series or Warcraft before the MMO again people want to continue the series.

They did took player feedback and some issues will be addressed.

The team has said a lot of different things. Personal housing won't take FC housing spots, housing won't be lost if you unsub, Eureka won't feel at all like Diadem, etc.

So sorry if some of us feel a little untrusting that it'll actually happen.

Because we had someone in this thread and others that disliked it and used pictures and stuff like that to attack those that like it and constantly using white knights and stuff like that in posts does not make for a betterargument even if the point itselfs are good. At the same time people that disliked it also got swept into one group by some other posters and insulted them through that. Both of it is not good for a discussion.

I dont know if my posts are aggressive or not (I try to not be that way) because English is not my mother tongue but I am quite sure that you wont find words like white knights or fanboy in them, simply because it could just start flame wars. Sadly even when I say that I will keep out of stuff I sometimes have the urge to post answers anyway. x)

If we take a recent example of my troubles, the only way I can understand that person's action is because they think SE is always in the riht and they always make correct designs. If they really disagreed with me with bad MSQ change (why they bring that off topic subject here?) along with word twisting and attempting to fact steer, how can I conclude anything but "blindly defending SE" no matter what they do? in the end such thing only harms the game, throwing everyone else that may have issues "you do not matter"

I may need some post quota to reply to my thread since I was attacked (I think?) for not replying to it.

Thanks. Honestly I am just not sure because I have people that attacked me and saying that I was twisting their words so I was not sure if I had not done so without my intention. But when I read through it again I often get the feeling that it was them twisting my words and when I again use arguments I mostly dont get answers back on that posts so I kinda assume that it truly was just done to flame a bit.

No you are not the person with the pictures but yes you do call people white knights some times which might make some poster way more offensive/angry that they intended to be. Yet its also on the other side on how to react to it. And they also had some posters that truly just insulted. I think that over the few days thanks to some insults the heath has grown a bit stronger again (but honestly I still find most of the post on the last few pages still quite okay.) I am just a bit annoyed that its somehow still pushed onto the side of those that dislike it.

Honestly you will always have people that will defend a company no matter what. I have been on so many reddit subpages and other game forums and you will find them there too. Exactly how you will also always find the people that will hate everything about the game/company and need to go in every thread to post about that. This forum is still quite fine. (Gamefaqs is imo troll heaven) I think people are just highly emotional about Eureka and any topic that its about it so that people can increase the flame war on any side even faster.

But I will be blunt: White knights, blind fanboy and stuff like that might be something that are truthful for some people (and no I am talking about FF14 alone in that) but honestly even if they behave that way (again I am not meaning this forum I am speaking in general) its still way better to just not have these words in posts. People can take it the wrong way and suddenly you have a lot of dislike against you even if the points themselves might be great. And it gives people fuel to use these posts to attack the other side while ignoring the content of the post itself. And others who might feel attacked that way too will jump in with them and agree and thus some simple words may just have created the start of another "war". I am not saying that you should not post or dont point out that someone is twisting your words (because that has happened in this very thread) but putting certain words in a post will not make it look better and just make sure that the war will go on. But thats just my opinion on this. In no way I am greater or stuff like that, I had my fair share of aggressive posts too (especially when you talk about something you are passionate about be it in a negative or positive way) and maybe some were a bit too harsh but I am quite sure that nobody will find any direct insults in them.

So but enough of this off topic and time to go to bed. @_@

I appreciate the nods to FFXI, but like hunts and anything they try to resemble with crowded "open world" content it just shows how bottlenecked the game's build is, and I hope they attempt to reward playing out of the crowded fatetrain style better.

That is the problem with open world content in this game, and really in modern games with many players.

They will always go for the path of least resistance, in this case, the fate train. I was in a party at 17 killing Voidscales for 500xp per kill, vs following the train around. Was better xp than sitting waiting for low level NM pops, and we were able to manipulate the train to go near us to spawn the higher level ones when they were up, since the train just follows any flag and "next train location here" messages lol.

Level 19 now. I have everything I want except the scorpion harness. Pending my post 19 run of pazuzu to get my relic for my DRG. I have 1400 boxes pending to open following the "fix".
Still non-engaging to me. I've done it for hours and the only thing keeping me awake is participating in the constant salty arguments going back and forth in /shout about who needs to join wraith parties and where the train is. Nobody really makes XP parties for mob chains in any instance I've been in. Sargatanas (and cross server) has no PFs up when I'm on, which is admittedly late hours but when it first came out there were at least 2 or 3 during the wee hours of the morning.

In the end I did it for the drops and only the drops. I have Relic armor because I got the crystals anyway. I'll probably wait till mendacity becomes uncapped to catch up my alts.

Final impression: There was so much more the zone and the mechanics could have been besides frustrating. I was not invested in the story and had to SKIP the cutscene in the fan cave so I wouldn't die alone when the mobs pathed back onto me and lose XP if I didn't lay on the floor shouting for a res. The elemental wheel could have been left out, the only time it MATTERED was when people pull adds into a fight that shouldn't really be there. I've never been more angry at other players for playing badly near me which was exacerbated by people ALWAYS being near me. I've also not had the amount of frustration with other people doing things to annoy me on purpose that happened in the zone in a very long time.

But it's done, barring helping FC mates and friends, and from what I see isn't very far off from my first impression. Long grind, useless and frustrating mechanics added, newbie hostile. I have no reason to go back once I've gotten my desired rewards. On the plus side it is pretty, the NM fights ARE fun when I can see them and be useful and it was admittedly nostalgic picking up gear and having references to FFXI.

I patiently await fixes and improvements and hope the next stage isn't just more of the same.
