Are the anemos the new 'relics'?

Relics were the weapons like Curtana but you eventually transferred their power into Zodiac weapons like Excalibur to enable further growth. The relic form had reached its potential. Then you had Anima weapons and Eureka weapons in the expansions.

Anemos form is the first milestone in the Eureka weapon saga. 'Relic' is just used by the community incorrectly to label all upgradable weapons, and while the Eureka weapons may not be relics, it is indeed the replacement for that type of content. They will continue to grow through many patches.

Eureka weapons appear to be the successors to the anima weapons, zenith weapons, etc. of previous expansions - which means the answer to “are eureka weapons the relic weapons for 4.x?” seems to be “yes.”

The good news is that the new grind seems to be easier than the old grind - and possibly more fun - and we also get upgrades for the artifact armor sets.

I think there would have been less confusion - and maybe even less disappointment - about Eureka if they had explicitly announced it as a new relic system, which it basically is.

we don't know if its easier, yet. If anything it might increase in difficulty significantly later on, since the easy nature of this step led to a lot of bad gameplay. If we need to grind elemental level up to the 40s, with a nerfed fate structure, it could be hellish.

I'm pretty sure they stated that relics will be tied to eureka, and we've already seen relic-like progression steps.

Even if you don't consider the current versions 'relics', this is the relic farm. There will not be another sudden 'relic' event for SB

One would really hope so but we don't have any idea if SE will put the best weapon of the expansion into a 1/72 chance drop at the end of a super easy to ruin group encounter a few days after the final relic step comes out again.

One of the nicest things about the new weapons is a week of grinding sets you up to make plenty of weapons, if you choose to not use resources on armor, and once capped in lvl it's a cakewalk to do weapons for every class, very user friendly compared to a week grind per individual weapon.
I am quite fond of the fact I can take what role the party needs rather than focusing the role of the weapon I am after as well.
I rather enjoy Eureka myself, aside from earning exp on other classes, it's almost all I've done since it's release

Not that I know anything screw you, ice legatus about what you might be referring to, but even that was such a crapshoot that I don't think most players considered it viable. And if you're simply looking for the "Stormblood weapon that is levelled up throughout several different patches that under-utilize Gerolt," this is that grind.

Gerolt? Check. Crystal farm? (aka atma) Check. First steps of the HW relic were blue, but ended with purple weapons. I'm guessing that the next part will bring them to purple status. If they go the route they have with relics before...and they certainly appear to be, given the grind we were given to start with, next part will be an "easy" phase.
