Even if you don't consider the current versions 'relics', this is the relic farm. There will not be another sudden 'relic' event for SB, so if you are going to want to get your relics in a timely manner, go ahead and get started (if you're comfortable with Eureka). While I get the fact that everybody has a different opinion on what constitutes a relic, telling people "oh no this isn't the SB relic" simply misleads them into thinking there's going to be a different relic grind, and there isn't.

With respect, you are mistaken. They are anima weapons even at the first step.
Given this precedent, the current weapons are already relics.Originally Posted by Journal entry for Soul Without Life

Some time later, the sweating smith finally lowers his hammer, a look of both exhaustion and satisfaction on his face. The plan has succeeded and you are the proud owner of an anima weapon. Now begins the journey to discover its full potential.

None of them are relics other than the original set.
The next set weren't relic weapons they were anima weapons.
Just like this set isn't relic weapons, they are anemos weapons.

I'm going to assume the next step of the Eureka weapons is going to be time-gated or at least several magnitudes grindier to prevent people from having easy access to a level 360+ weapon.

Well, if we want to go that route, then calling the series as a whole "Anemos Weapons" will ultimately be wrong, as they are adding Eureka Ionos (element presumed based on pre-established lore) in 4.3_, and each Weapon Anemos will be upgraded to Weapon Ionos or transformed to a completely new name and model altogether.
At any rate, "relic" encompasses the spirit of the weapon series, regardless of expansion, and has wide enough usage to apply here.

They're definitely the 4.XX relic weapon. This is our set up to start our relics, same as always. Each beginning step for each set has never had the "purple" just yet when you began it. So yes these are, our relics.
Going by that logic, then the original set isn't "relic" either.... they would be considered "Zodiac" weapons then. They're all relic weapons, just different lore about each set when we get'em per expansion.

They aren't anemos is simply the name of the first area and if you look at the actual tooltip it says "Eureka Gear" not "anemos weapon"
Also I've never understood why people get so upset at other iterations of these type of weapons getting called relics Zodiac, Anima, Eureka, does it really matter if they're called relics? seems like a really weird and specific hill to die on.
PS if we're being specific nowhere are they specified explcitly as relics just "zodiacs"

Yes, you are all correct in agreement; the relic were quite literally just the first purple weapons we got in the end.
The upgrades all had different names for their tiers.
