Are the anemos the new 'relics'?

I would say, not yet. Relics are purple items, and the anemos are still blue. I think they will eventually be relics, it is just not there yet.

They will be. You get a title text early on in the quests the same way you did at the start of the zodiac saga.

Those weren't the relics yet. Only after the stage where they transformed into the anima weapons did they become relics.

With respect, you are mistaken. They are anima weapons even at the first step.

Now begins the journey to discover its full potential.

Given this precedent, the current weapons are already relics.
