Add Blue Mages Already

Been waiting/hoping for Blue Mage for 4 years now.

Don't care what anyone thinks about the job, just add it already. We all know you're creative enough to implement it somehow.

So yeah. Come on.

I could be dead by time you release it. You know, like from a car accident or a plane crashing on me.

Not really enough healing and support blue magic in the series to draw from to make it a healer and people would argue there's already lots of DPS jobs in the game in comparison to tanks and healers.

I can't speak for others but for me at least, it's the same reason I think we need a fan DNC as the next healer.

There's nothing they can do with another DoM healer and DoW tank that won't make people go, "but we already have three other jobs that do this same stuff." Though PLD and DRK have some magic, all three tanks are heavy armor bladed weapon jobs. If we want something fresh, it'll have to be something that is not a heavy armor bladed weapon job, and blue mage could satisfy that nicely as a DoM in cloth/leather wielding a club or whip.

Whatever they decide to do, the next healer needs to be a DoW and the next tank needs to be a DoM. Everyone who wants to play the current style of healer and tank is already playing it. If they keep the split along Discipline lines, it won't draw any new people to the roles. Crossing Discipline lines will draw people who aren't already playing tanks and heals, because the new jobs would satisfy different personalities and playstyles.

In addition is the Blue Magic spellset to take into account.

There's not enough healing magic in there to warrant making it a healer, and while it could potentially be a utility DPS, we already have that in RDM, and nobody wants BLU to be a RDM clone.

The Blue Magic set actually lends itself very well to being a Tank. You have a good mix of mitigation and utility, and the damaging spells would thematically suit aggro generation as being flashy 'stolen' moves.

IF they do a BLU mage it will take a while maybe in the next expansion same thing as what happened top RDM. Not sure how BLU would fit in perhaps it will be part of the Eureka saga later on being some of the aspects of BLU are to learn attacks from mobs. As for it's class I doubt it will be tank based. If anything range magic DPS would be the closest thing to it. As for DNC it should notbe too hard to implement being we already have dancing emotes. Mix it up with rouge and their is your DNC.

I want BLU and I want it to be a tank, but I’m keeping my hopes as low as possible cause it was my second job in ffxi after SMN and I just don’t think they’ll do it justice here. I can’t see the learning experience being as good as ffxi or ffta2. They’ll probably just be generic skills you learn from job quests or something.

I’m not being negative, like I said I want it and am looking forward to it. I just don’t expect it to live up to its predecessors.
