    Warrior or PLD

    Which is more fun? :x
(I'm aware this is a question of opinion, but I'd like to ask anyway)

Which do you prefer, a bunch of oGCDs or big hp and numbers? I love the lifesteal of warrior too much not to pick it, even if im mostly just managing the beast gauge when playing. Pallys p fun too though, even if I havent leveled them to cap.

The big HP really reminds me of bear tanking from WoW, which is why I'm somewhat drawn to the idea of it. :/

I prefer PLD with its great group utility, the ability to heal, shield and cover allies.
But mostly because of Hallowed ground to cheese mechanics.

I really like both for different reasons (and depending on my moods lol). Currently I am liking Warrior and is my current raid job.

PLD theme is all about protecting allies and mitigating damage and i really feel like a knight protecting my party. Cover, Passage of Arms, Divine Veil and Intervention are all powerful cooldowns to mitigate party-wide damage. Also has lots of self mitigation with Shelltron (basically a block on tap), Bulwark and Sentinel ( and Rampart with cross class). Also has a valuable ability to heal themselves and others. Semi decent dps with Requiescat/Holy spirit combo and Circle of Scorn/Goring blade combo/Royal Authority to maintain DoTs on target. Also is the only tank with a native stun (Shield bash). The simplest and easiest to learn tank in my opinion.

WAR is a high HP and high damage tank that steals HP from enemies. I like WAR (even pre-4.2) for its powerful range of damage abilities but also has some great mitigation with Inner release being a ton of fun. Storms Eye combo buffs WAR dps and Storms Path combo restores HP and yields a lot of Beast gauge to use WARs abilities to either deal heavy damage to the enemy, damage enemies to restore health or provide mitigation (depending on the stance the WAR is in). Defiance stance beast gauge abilities focuses on HP restoration, attacks that deal damage and restore HP, and damage mitigation. Deliverance stance abilities focus on high damage single target and AoE damage. Inner release is the centre piece in either stance as it reduces all beast gauge ability costs to 0 and really lets you unleash the beast. WAR is a tank where you can balance your use of Defiance and Deliverance stances to smartly mitigate damage/restore HP and deal lots of damage to mobs.

Personally i prefer Paladin over Warrior, it's more fun to me, but there is no denying it is satisfying to see big damage numbers on Warrior and some people prefer this. Try both or i should say all 3, i know DRK is the dark horse at the moment but its actually not bad at all, and play whichever suits your style more.

I found Paladin really boring to level up but it gets really good at about 60. Warrior seemed to get more stuff earlier and for me was more fun to level.

I like War because it has more 'response' tools than other tanks. Pld/Drk are primarily mitigation before something happens. With War's many ways to quickly increase HP, Equilibrium, IB(IB+Zerk Spam too), Thrill, etc, I feel that I can respond to changing circumstances more effectively. The healers are to busy raising people and my HP is to low for the tank buster? Equil yourself. Panic a thrill of battle. Healer dead and you need to live until the group stabilizes? IR+IBx6-8. Stuff like that makes war feel more fluid and Drk/Pld very rigid by comparison to me.

I like the fluidity of war overall. It has always felt more dynamic for me since 2.1. Smooth stance changes on the fly, reaction abilities to heal instead of only preemptive mitigation, turning on the damage on demand. I feel like I can 'steer' warrior any direction I need to at any time. Pld/Drk always seem clunky by comparison.
