What's your first impression of Eureka?

For what it's worth, Divine attacked me for saying I quit because I had an old character linked to my forum profile instead of the one I play these days, accusing me of faking an unsubscribing screenshot and using an alt account to gain forum cred. Or something. I changed it to the character I actually play, but he/she hasn't responded...

That's the type of person you're dealing with. Probably not worth your time or any more of mine.

Actually, I can. He didn't ask for clarification or proof or anything else. He jumped right toward a personal attack. In the other thread he attacked me in as well, I had included a screenshot of 1140 days of play time. He knows. He's just being terrible.

Edit: It's especially ironic given the post below I've linked where I hadn't realized the person accusing me of having an alt account to fake unsubscribing is running around on a displayed character showing a level 63 as the highest and admits it is an alt account as his main forum account got banned. You can't make this stuff up.

If people are calling something crap after 1-2 hours of playtime and that is the common opinion there is something wrong with the content.

But there are also people enjoying the content (specifically the ones actually trying to spawn NM's or grinding regular mobs and not the ones AFKing while waving their glow sticks, begging to be 'accidentally' MPK'd). If Eureka was really the last thing people were holding onto to find a reason to keep playing FFXIV, well... best advice I can give is to take a break from FFXIV for a bit. It's what I did shortly after 3.15 came out (and we all remember the third Relic step before it was nerfed, right?), as 3.1 overall was awful. Void Ark was boring, Diadem was disappointing (I was actually hyped for this and it was the last time I have ever been hyped for anything in XIV), Thordan was neat... but one good thing in a mostly disappointing patch wasn't enough to keep me subscribed. Didn't help that 3.1 itself was delayed.

Possibly the worst content since beta that they've released.Diadem is a close second.
Although im not gonna unsub over it like some people XD.
Will do a half an hour of it every now and again to get the mount.Once i have that though i'll be pretending Eureka doesnt exist.
Unlike some players i cant justify mindless grinding all day long jsut to get a glow on my weapon.
Eureka is a representation of everything i despise about MMORPGS and i play final Fantasy 14 to avoid this kind of game content.

They want everyone to be on the hate train, and anyone who isn't is somehow contradicting themselves. They can't understand that just because they don't find something fun it doesn't mean everyone else will feel the same.

Confrontation and peer validation is what they seek. Your beliefs and opinions are of no importance to them. They will not recognize that you may like of believe in something they don't.

I've been greeted with disrespect for my views as soon as I posted a lenghty analysis on the current experience I had in Eureka, and answered popular assumptions of that time such as "leveling is slow" or "getting crystals is slow", while also comparing that relic step with previous ones. They felt the need of starting a confrontation to prove me that I was wrong for liking aspects of Eureka.
They will then throw ad hominem at you as well as saying that you are twisting their words and whatnot, even if they were the ones who started the argument without any kind of respect.
For example, Vstarstruck wanted to dismiss my views so much that s/he started saying that I was a "white knight" and a "blind fanboy". These are piss poor argument techniques that are also quite common when arguing with people such as conspirationists/flat earthers and the likes. And as soon as you start acting like they do, they play the victim and accuse you of using the same techniques they just used.
I unfortunatly got caught in that spiral and cost me time I'll not get back, while they got exactly what they wanted out of that confrontation.

The only way to win with these people is simply by not trying to argue with them. I learned it the hard way.

People who cannot agree to disagree shouldn't be given attention.

I have literally just added them to my ignore list. I don't particularly like being accused of things I never said. Waste of my time to engage with someone like this and you're now the third person who has told me they're not worth it. Obviously their behaviour is a pattern.

To be honest you should probably not listen to Divinemights, them and Fyce have been quite dishonest in this thread by quote mining and misrepresenting myself and other's posts in a feeble attempt to either troll or try and argue.

It was even said in this very thread, people are forcing themselves to 20 so they are not being left behind, there is already a hard to deal with level gap.

Explain to me how with all the delays how it was overlooked to have a level sync feature in this? (ignoring the fact this place is extremely basic in what you do and could been done anywhere without the development time sink)

I am also wondering how many people there are that complained about yo kai but happen to like this.

Really disappointed with the elemental stuff. Your decisions are worthless when you can chop and change your elements so quick and easily. It takes away the whole meaning of the system.

When you can change around so easily your never going to be at a disadvantage. You chose fire the monsters are wind. Just go change your elements.... now the monsters are water... Just change them again... And again and again.

Takes away the entire purpose of the system and makes it worthless when you can change your elements at will. gameplay wouldnt change at all if it was removed.

It's worse than attribute points really. Where they had no meaning either just bung em all in primary stat and done...

Ps: With a fully flawed game, comes full criticism from players that played for 10years +, I,we dont care about your input either.Thats how it goes right? because it sure feel that se doesn't care at times also, but sure we will put it on bad communication like always.
