    I went in once. Was lost the moment I got there. No one wanted a fresh newbie in their group. Managed to finally get in a group. And it was BORING. The people were great, don't get me wrong. But mindlessly killing mobs had me almost falling asleep. And then seeing how many of those items you need to get the gear and weapon... Uhhhh, NO. I'd rather run a hundred dungeons than do Eureka. It seems like a good idea in concept, but it's just too much of a grindfest. Either lower the amount of things it takes for gear or increase the xp from mobs. As is I don't think I'm going to be doing it. Oh well.

    My biggest issue I have with Eureka is how are we intended to progress (at least how did the dev team intend for us to). Just chaining monsters is grotesquely inefficient and everyone going after Notorious Monsters makes the engine choke so hard at best you 90k out at worst the Notorious Monster's model or even party members disappear and are untestable and running at an extremely low frame rate. People being able to drag more monsters in the Notorious Monster fights making the issues even worse.

    Some things that might help (without going into a extensive engine rewrite):

    Lower the amount of people that can be in one Eureka instance
    Zone off parts for Notorious Monsters to spawn with out normal monsters spawning there
    When a Notorious Monster is up, the area around it monsters not part of the Notorious Monster encounter will drop hate and leave (and can't get be aggroed till they get back to their starting point to, something like an intimidation or unnerving effect)
    Make normal monsters drop more EXP (just chaining more viable)
    Boost the drop rate of Protean Crystals from normal monsters

    After 5 days and probably about 25 or so hours on it, I can say that this is honestly the most boring thing I have ever played. There's nothing to do other than kill mobs to then pop an NM and repeat until satisfied. I have my +2 weapon at level 12, and it's probably gonna take a few days to get to 20 since everyone just wants to run a train now.

    Honestly, I'm just baffled that this took 17 months with a delay. I can understand if they really put a lot of work into this. But, there are reused assets basically across the whole zone. 17 months to build a base to expand upon when it's literally just killing mobs and nothing else is honestly pathetic.

    Overall, I don't think I'll ever come back once I get my 355 Relic and maybe armor. The fact that the dev team green-lit this, despite being painfully repetitive and overall not fun, is just embarrassing.

    That's what I thought...I saw Bartz' house blasted open (with no iconic music box...), isle of Bal/Val, Krile being a disciple of Galuf, etc. Even then it all seems rather...inconsequential, like a desolated museum, instead of being integrated in a fun way like the Lone Wolf was in the Hildibrand quests this same patch.

    Frankly, the entire island looks more like Vallis Media on Gran Pulse than anything. Maybe there's more cool things at 13+, but my god I don't think I'll make it from 6 to 13 anytime soon with any sanity left.

    Throwing in some more feedback, this time re: the storyline. In both the ARR and HW iterations, the relic weapon story was all about just that - the weapon. And while to some that was probably a drag, for me it made the weapon more 'special'. It enhanced my immersion and made it a personal goal to complete it, especially the Anima weapon where I felt like I was raising a child. Giving it to my retainer when I finally got the Bardam's weapon was one of the saddest things I had to go in-game. The fact they didn't pick up on it despite it supposedly being a weapon of untold potential for growth only makes us dumping it worse.
    But in Eureka it feels like an after-thought. And admittedly I haven't even done the level 13 quest yet so it might change, but it makes the weapons and gear feel impersonal. Just another way to get more gear, grind for the gear, just a new name for it. I'm enjoying the game mode right now in small dosages, but the personal investment is gone. There's no proving myself to be equal to the heroes of eld, not living up to the expectations of my young charge, just another grind because we're the best adventurers Eorzea has to offer like basically anything else ever. There's no challenge to us as a character. The way they implemented it with Krile makes it impersonal even in her regard because she just stands there and does nothing (Again, so far pre-13 quests). Sometimes, rarely, the Scions would go and do stuff with us and we'd at least interact more often. Not so much here if only because of how far apart the quests are.
    Nothing much to do about this except hope it gets better in future patches, I guess. But this is something that bothered me.

    Did anyone do the Monk zodiac weapon back in ARR? Each weapon had a little blurb about one of the heroes who wielded it...Monk's Sphairai was used by the very own Ivon Coeurlfist. The same one we got to fight in a dungeon at the top of Gyr Abania just like the legend, two expansions later. How cool was that?

    See that's what I'm talking about. Even that extra bit of lore makes it all magical and gives your character personal ties to things. The 60-70 BLM quest made me appreciate all the more the story about the BLM relic weapon.
    Originally they said Shatotto summoned a meteor down because she was bored and used the fragments to create her staff. But nope, turns out she saved our frigging world by diverting a meteor from orbit before it crashed into Eorzea and used the fragments that fell still into her staff

    That is why I do not get people defending diadem 3.0, it feels like there is no thought put into it like that. All the time wasted on overcomplex programing it seems to get nothing out of it from playing it

    I'm like level 12 now and yeah...I still feel like this type of grind doesn't work in this game.

    All it does is give you carpal tunnel constantly killing over and over of the same mobs.

    It was ok in FFXI cause the combat was slower, but eh...

    I'm still in there doing it though because I am afraid if I don't at least get close to max level then I'll be left behind if I ever did need something from there. I also maybe want to try to complete a relic.

    I'm doing the content, but I'm not really enjoying it. It is boring waiting for NMs to spawn and especially if it is at a higher level NM where I can't really help kill mobs because I'm too weak...I end up just helping with raises and playing my 3DS.

    As for EXP grinding it is also boring...and causes hand cramps etc too much spam over and over for long periods of time.

    The only entertaining thing about being in there is just laughing when people get rekt by mobs lol and/or watching the NM train choo choo into level 17 mobs and then seeing like 10-20 players get cleaved and die in a pile lol...honestly SE should have given monsters Achievements cause that deserves a "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor" achievement for the monster lol "Kill 20 players with one attack"
