    agreed. i think the reason people bring up leves so often is the fact that was the only casual group content there was in game besides grind parties. i don't care about leves so much as i do the fact there is no casual group content in the game anymore. if they put in a group activity questing the leves themselves could stay solo content.

    Well, doesn't have to be questing, but a better sense of group accomplishments. The fine line they are trying to tread is to also allow these activities to be accessible via soloing.

    Notice, for dungeons instances where you are forced to group up, feels much more rewarding when everyone puts in their best effort and teamwork to clear the dungeon. However, for low level dungeon or instances it just feels like I'm just another guy to fill in the void in the party, rather than an essential member of the group. I blame this for having no level caps.

    For EXP grind parties, there often lacks effort upon the group as a unit. Thus, it feels less rewarding when you slay a monster while grinding to move onto the next. However, the addition of chaining and linking made it a bit better. It gave players a gauge to see how well they could perform. Although, in the end PL'ing sort of crushed that, and now it's just how fast you can grab new enemies before the timer is up.

    It's really hard for me to gain any gratification from something that is soloable, but done with a group. Mainly because the challenge is lost when grouping up, most of the the activities does not scale up enough with the group size.

    company leves + guardian aspect is the only way to solo pick a level 1-2 levels higher than you and you can rack up the XP in the kill as many mobs in 15 mins.

    I hope they bring back storyline questing with others. Could care less about guild leves. Give me a CoP difficulty WoTG storyline that requires some level of thinking rather than this current mind numbing structure we have now.

    At first before playing the game i tought that leves were collectable and gave a few bonus while you cosumed those in party, but it ended like a semi quest that nobody reads or gives any lore because those are repeatable, so in my op the best way to implement leves is that you unlock more as you complete them, just like faction leves but in a massive way, give a side story chain of quests with short CS according to the nation, so in this case 3 different stories that may share a few quests between cities.

    When they open more cities make more side stories like that, i know it sounds like a lot of work but i know that they'll have enough resources once 2.0 arrives, this is more like the ranking we had in FF XI cities or like final fantasy tactics task, they could make it like those quest you had to do for every npc in every city, so the logic goes that as a normal person like a sheppard or whatever if you have trouble with a few beast that are eating your cows, dodos whatever the normal thing is to go to an agency that gets mercenarys to solve your problem for a fee, or theres a guy (NM) that is troubling you or your town or kidnapped someone you will need some experienced people to kill it, just as an idea, after completing that leve the guy will tell you different things, more npc's will put more task for you, etc and you'll be learning more about every city while you rank up too.

    I know that a lot of people may agree that the official oppening gives an idea that the leves are something like that, and if you do a leve that one will take you somewhere else doing something amazing at the end. Maybe because of the lack of time they couldnt follow that concept but i always wanted to see in the game, especially with my first few faction leves.

    I'd like to have epic group questing like that, as well as the regular old 'fetch me a {whatever}' and 'kill {x} wolves to make our village safer' quests, as well as longer quest chains in between. Sometimes I do just want to solo quest, sometimes I want to duo quest with my husband, sometimes I want something that takes a light party to accomplish, and sometimes I want something that takes my linkshell months to progress through together.

    I want questing of all kinds (real quests, not levequests), and FFXIV is seriously lacking in that department.

    Btw, never been a fan of calling them sidequests, even if they're not part of the main story. It makes them sound trivial, and they shouldn't be.
