Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
On Cactuar maybe.
Eureka is accross all worlds in the Data center. If it didn't hit 144 with that many players on the data center, it would have already been torn off and Square would write it off as an early April Fools prank.
Depends of how you view it... https://ffxivcensus.com/active-experiment/ not sure if that's true but...Even false that's a 10Million you are deducting from going up the pyramid...
"People won't do bad content no matter the reward!"But even in this very thread there has been people who stated they hate it but are only doing it because they know it will die off soon and it will be hard to catch up. The same happened with both versions of Diadem as people rushed to do it to get the rewards before it died off rapidly, all the while stating how much they hated what we got.
"People do bad content just for the reward!"
What I find interesting in our argument, is that I don't even have to take part in it.
- You don't know how much ressources they invested on it.I keep telling the person you are replying to that, and he keeps blaming the playebase for overhype, he does not listen. Anyways thank you for your post, it is nice seeing other reasonable people around here.
It does not matter who likes it and not, they failed to show 17 months of work, failed to show the delays was warranted.
- You don't know how much time they actually worked on it since the announcement.
- You don't know how many iterations they went through.
- You don't know if development started as soon as they announced it, or if it was scheduled to start later.
- You don't know if there were technical difficulties creating the content that could've delayed it for a long time.
You assume the worst case scenario without considering anything else. Of course I won't listen to all the baseless assumptions you make.
Ppl wont do bad content no matter the reward?! Where did Kaonis even type that in what you quoted???, you are transforming the sentence, "Ultimately if people aren't having fun with the system then whatever reward you put in won't matter" doesn't mean that at all. & to counter argument what you are trying to say, I even posted myself that I will do content to play with others while I might not enjoy it at all.
Eureka's grind doesn't seem to be nearly as bad as I thought it was at first. I've already gotten the +2 weapon and lv9, so that seems like reasonable progress so far, though I don't know how horrible the upgrade beyond +2 will be (I am guessing collecting NM drops at lv20 or something.)
I have been enjoying leveling parties - for example it is actually useful to use sleep as a stun to interrupt enemy skills, or for crowd control if we have too many enemies or if one pops on top of us.
Playing BLM I like how:
When enemies take a bit longer to drop, things seem to get a bit more interesting and strategic.
- Sleep + Eureka/regen potions actually is/are useful when you aggro enemies while running through the zone
- Drain might actually be useful when you need to heal yourself, and Freeze might actually be useful for its bind effect
- Potions (Silencing potion? other debuff potions? Eureka potions + Max-potions) might actually be useful!
I also like FATE bosses with mechanics - they remind me a bit of Sabotender Bailarina in ARR. I like how you have to deal with the poison spores on Callisto or the Void Tears (?) on Number, as well as the horror of people pulling extra adds to the boss and cleaving dozens of unsuspecting players. I *assume* they're not doing this on purpose, but I find it interesting that MPK is apparently a thing in Eureka...

- Item drops from normal enemies (there seem to be no item drops at all outside of FATEs???)
- Gathering nodes (in dangerous locations!)
- Treasure coffers and maps
- More utility for support classes (for example enemies that require multiple debuffs and a stun rotation)
- Refresh potions
- Occasional monster invasions where you have to defend the town or outpost
- Open-world labyrinths/caves/dungeons (it looks like this is coming?!)
(I also kind of miss skillchains and magic bursts, but don't tell anyone.)

I really like the labyrinth/caves/dungeons and the monsters invading town idea.

Nobody of us has any numbers so going around and saying that we are the minority is false too...
Lets look at the known facts: The japenese forum is mostly angry with that, the highest amount of likes are with posts that are asking if this is fun or if this was tested, talking about how this just copied the bad stuff from old MMOs and not the fun parts, how they dont want any further Eureka content, how they are hurting and tired. They bring a lot of the same arguments we do. The german forum is also mostly against it. (No idea about the french forum). We have a post about the slide what they have learned from 1.0 with over 100 of likes and a thread about the fear for the future of this content with over 160+ likes. Reddit right now is a bit more positive but the likes there are still low, while the post that called it a trainwreck got over 1800 likes (and I believe that this is after they substract the dislikes?). Gamefaqs also is quite mixed and tended towards the negative side. So the evidence we have right here is quite negative.
Now personal anecdotes: I have seen no single post in my time in Eureka that was positive about this content. I have seen a lot of negative opinions. This again is just personal experience but goes together with the above point.
So we cant say for sure who is the majority right now but all above shows that a lot of people dislike it and that alone is bad because it was advertised as a major feature for SB and as the content where they should have learned from Diadem 1+2.
(Also if you have thread where nearly every page is full of rage and anger then maybe just maybe you are in the minority. And its fine if you like it...but that does not mean that we cant complain about it and want more out of a content then simply killing monsters in the most boring ways..)
On topic: The servers were horrible today..constant red DC symbols on whole groups, making some fights nearly impossible. I stopped counting my DCs which lost me at least one NM experience and loot..Get your servers ready for something like that or dont do this..

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
