It's been a while, but as I last recall the exit survey for XIV is pretty piss poor. And before maybe 3.2 or 3.3 they didn't even have any sort of exit survey when you unsubscribed.

Normally I'm in the boat that these kinds of posts are annoying, but those are in games where the devs have systems in place to find out why you quit.

For the most part people in game are liking Eureka seeing as every Eureka zone I go into is almost always full.
This content came quite a while after 4.2 launched. By the time this is out, people have already done the content that was released then or skipped out on it because it wasn't for them. For most people, it was either doing this or playing another game. Take a guess which people who are satisfied are doing.

Guy's complaining about savage content being "semi- cupcake difficulity", and he hasn't cleared it. So then that makes you wonder what else is just being exaggerating to try and make his complaint more compelling.

There are plenty of issues/reasons why people would want to unsub. Making things up is rarely the way to go though as there is a good chance you'll get called out on it and it will become the new focus of your topic (like now).

This also happens in World of Warcraft - are people really so defensive of their continued sub dollars that they feel like people shouldn't give any sort of insight as to why this game is no longer worth it for someone else? If you don't agree, feel free to say as much, but stop asking such a stupid mundane question as "why are you letting us know"? They're not letting YOU know, they're trying to let the developers know rather than just be another drip down the steady doldrums of the financial black line.
Maybe then what we should do as a community is, instead of coming on here and leading with that statement, we should be writing "Dear Devs" letters. Start it with explaining your situation, how long you've been playing and such and going on to express your concerns and your decision to leave in a civilized manner. A calmly worded letter directed specifically at the devs would go much farther towards this goal then using the bullhorn of having it in the title.

Here, we can even make it a form letter in some regards...

    Dear Devs,

My name is (your name here) and I've been playing FFXIV for the past (length of playtime here). In that time I have (briefly describe your experience playing the game and they things you've done).

I am writing you today because I am concerned about (the issue you're concerned about) and would like to explain why. (Calmy explain your issues with the content and why you think it should be changed/adjusted/removed).

Because of this issue I currently have decided to (your decision about what you've decided to do, explained calmly).

Thank you for your attention to this letter.

    Sincerely,

    (Your name)
Something like this would go a LONG way to avoiding these rage wars and possibly drawing more attention from the people it's actually intended for as well as possibly allowing people of a like mind to drop it a like as well....

But I guarantee if I pulled someone's grey parses off FFLogs to talk about how they're not qualified to make statements about content in this game requiring skill I'd be ridiculed to hell and back.

Your right people who have not cleared content have very low credibility and those who have not even entered certain content should just stay quiet, in a perfect world. Not sure if pulling hair is something to be proud of in the context of ill intent. Could have gone about it in a more respectable way.

Not really it depends what this "someone" was saying.

If I come here and say the content is too easy I can perform top dps and you come and show how bad I am, I'll be the one ridiculed not you.

I'm saying there's a double standard, more like. Pulling someone's Lodestone cheevos is seen as A-OK shade-throwing in this thread but pointing out in some other thread that a dude has only greens and greys on stuff like Sigmascape story mode gets you a lot of frowny faces and talk about "shaming". I mean, if anything FFLogs SHOULD be the barometer for judging someone's "worthiness" when it comes to pontificating on upper echelons of content design, not the Lodestone. I can buy a God Kefka clear for the achievement, for god's sake - FFLogs tracking my weeks of progression and personal improvement and various raid clears will show that I didn't, though (when my team actually clears it, ofc), and that I might actually know some stuff about playing the game at a higher level. (BTW for anyone reading, feel free to FFLogs stalk me all you want, I got nothin' to hide. Guardian and Kefka are my weak points currently and I know it.)

This is all pretty tangential to the main thread though, so I'm just gonna leave it at that.

The OP has at least done some Deltascape Savage, making their point not entirely invalid. You don't have to have done Ultimate Coil to offer the opinion that the first few tiers of both -scape raids thus far have been pretty easy. If credentials matter, I also think the first few tiers are pretty easy, I just don't personally agree with the OP that they should be harder.

You mean they love having dungeons and 8-man raids for even patches, dungeons and 24-man raid for odd patches, but having an additionnal content for a .5 patch on top of what odd/even patches offer instead of nothing really new like most .5 patches is just too much to bear ?

    Yeah...sure...makes sense...
