Also, this has to be the relic. There simply isn't time left to have any form of significant grind if they started in in the next .15 or .25 patch. The starting level of 335 for gear makes me think it should have been released with 4.1, but they delayed it a lot.
Oh it's the relic, even baldy McRelic is there.

This!! This is the description that should be in the patch notes under the Eureka section!

I'm attempting to reserve judgement in Eureka until the system is fully figured out and the general population is a higher level. I keep reminding myself that when XI's Abyssea came out most people thought it was terrible. A month later when the entire system had been figured out I knew a number of people who came back to XI after years away because they had heard how fun it was. That said this is my first impressions of Eureka after playing several hours yesterday solo, in PUGS and with FC mates:

    1) My hand is sore from repetitively striking the same 3 buttons for hours, yet I'm only lvl 5.
    2) I was significantly less bored while on the FC discord as the content itself isn't engaging
    3) all of the exp penalties (when grouped or powerleveling a friend or dying) are too harsh
    4) The grind for the relic armor and weapons would have probably been fine as it is if this content had been introduced months ago but with the release having been delayed the grind to get useable weapons and armour for this patch should be significantly less. Yes there is no hard cap on Protean Crystals like there is Mendacity Tomes, but Mendacity gear is stronger, requires less time spent to obtain and the roulette is actually more entertaining than Eureka. Sigma normal gear is almost as good as the 350 af and likewise requires far less time spent to obtain. If you are regularly clearing OS7 or OS8 at this point I don't why you would even bother with Eureka unless you really really want dye-able af3.

Despite wanting some of the furniture, minions etc from this zone and that I would like to be able to dye a few af pieces, for now I've pretty much decided I'm only going to go into Eureka when/if other members of my FC want to go in as the those rewards are insufficient for me to put up with how bored I was with this content. Perhaps the system is wildly better at cap (I certainly hope so). I've done five relics in the last two expansions-- two Zeta and three Anima. This time around I'll probably give it a pass.

My first experience was not a pleasant one. I joined a group and was expected to know everything right off the bat. I told them I was new but nope they wouldn't have that, yelling at me to hurry up and get to the fate. Meanwhile I had to talk to NPCs to even leave the camp. Running to try and hurry up, pulling monsters along the way and getting yelled at for it. We get to the Cacatur Fate, I get killed instantly for some reason. There was no AOE telegraph so I have no clue what it was. Get booted from the group and yeah. I eventually found another, nicer group that helped me along. I don't know what the first group's problem was. It was content that was released today yet they acted like it was stuff I should have known years ago. I really don't want this game to turn out like WoW's community.

For most of mmorpg, you are expected to go to a content fully prepared, this including:

Done all of the requirement requests.
    Gear up to par.
Prepared all consumables such as food and potion.

I cant agree of your idea of join a party unprepared and expecting party to wait for you to finish everything. Please don't complain about people booting you because you are not prepared.

In this one fate, there was so many people that I couldn't even see the fate boss. But just took random potshots at the emperor of animos. Which was a huge blob of spells and slashes. And got some boxes.

In other words, absolute zergfest, like ESO's pvp.

    Geez Divine, you're quite something....

Read her issue again (she was literally in there for the first time, unlocking things for the NPCs that she has to do first and had never seen any NM/mobs before, for content that was released yesterday)

    Read your 3 suggestions

Ask yourself how any of those would have helped her....

Then ask yourself why you're such a(n) [enter expletive word of your choice here]

I did have some fun yesterday the first 30 minutes but it was super short after the next 1h30 I have really big problem which is not only related to the grind (too long and repetitive) or the reward (not good) but with the content by itself and the "non-social aspect" of it even though it is clearly not done to be done solo :
Chains: the problem is you cannot have any interaction with the people you are with as you keep pulling otherwise you loose your chain, I have the impression that my group was super nice though I talk to them a total of 2 sentences. Our healer which was the only who knew a little what we were doing tried to give us advice but it resulted in the death of our tanks so he had to stop. for the same reason you can't take a break, I had such a headache after those 2 hours it was really time to stop.

levels: this what going to kill this content cause you cannot even group with people with more than 1-2 levels of difference without significantly penalizing yourself or them. not bad the first day as everyone is between 1-5 but next week... bye friends run, bye FC run.
friends: It is not even easy to find anyone in here if you did not queue together, I even don't think you can join a friend in one particular instance.
NM:the only thing who bring you something ( yay new crystal, boxes and decent EXP!) and cut from the monotony of killing the same mobs but NM spawns 1 by hour (this may increased when people figure how to spawn them) those at least contrary to hunt stay alive for a minute or two, but going to be impossible in few weeks if there is not enough people.

So the worst is I think yesterday was the best experience I will ever get inside Eureka and it is only going to get worse and it was already pretty bad.

Is it a language barrier? Your reply has zero relation to their complaints. Not to mention, they say that they stated beforehand that they are new.

    * Being new would mean required quests may not be done yet
    * Gear is the least of the concerns
    * Eureka-efficient potions are available within Eureka.

About the only thing they can be accused of being guilty is asking for an invite while an NM was happening. (which, to the defense of being new, they very likely had no idea about)

    If you say so.
