    I feel like the NMs are taking so long to spawn because people still don't know how to make them spawn correctly. This is heavily inspired by the way FFXI was, and on that game you had zero direction or whatsoever to hold your hand and tell you what to do. People got to the point of hacking the game and its files to figure out that if you kill monster X under Y conditions, boss Z would spawn.

    I feel like a lot of people are missing the point of Eureka and going for a killing spree without paying that much attention to, per example, the Skywatcher that was added there to give you hints of where to go under certain weather, along with some other NPCs. So it's gonna take some time for people to figure out that every single boss on that map is an Ultima Fate just waiting to happen.

    Once everybody figure out what to do and how to do it right, leveling is not going to be as intimidating as it looks like, honestly.

    1st impression was soooo bad (worst FFXIV content ever, by far)

    2nd impression: trying to reach / survive the long walk till the nect fate area, without pulling mobs and than trying to survive the fate itself with no deaths (clearly underleveled) was actually fun xD

    but dunno doing that over again might just wobble my mind (it is still mostly waaaaay to grindy.., eventhough had a moment of fun, still a disappointment)

    Second opinion...

    ...well, its pretty bad.

    You get a lot more crystals by doing fates, because anemos crystals drop and can be traded in for more protean crystals. You also get more exp from them. However, there aren't enough fates and they spawn too slowly, meaning you need to grind out chain exp on mobs for a long time. And even with the fates, you need to be a decent level to even survive as a tank with them, or do any damage. They tend to be a lot of deaths and raises because most people can't survive the adds or attacks.

    But the exp curve is really slow, even with fates, so its going to be a lot of grinding and waiting. Getting to level 6 is 20k exp; i know ffxi had a steep curve, but it was nowhere near that steep. And if you try and solo below your level, you get no chance at proteans and no chains. So its party or nothing, and then fates or nothing.

    It's very limited, and its just diadem again, except diadem had more fates, and that's what you did in it, you didn't need to grind for a long time to spawn them. And its limited diadem for that; no mounts, no gathering, smaller map in essence (diadem was two leveled) and more.

    I think when people start hitting the wall at level 6 or so, population will decline hard.

    FFXI wasn't rocket science, most NM were on a lottery spawn of a placeholder mob (once the timer ran out the NM had a chance to spawn instead of the regular mob). Here it seems to work on a similar basis and most of the lower level NM spots are known.

    My issue with it is that, just as Riyah mentioned, the population is going to decrease by a lot, and I think putting relic weapons behind this one content was a huge mistake. It might not seem that way now, but think: If you decided today that you want to have the Heavensward relic weapon but the "Light farming" could only be done in the Diadem, would you still do it? Because that would require you to do it by yourself.

    Eureka is okay, but is far from being a "longevity" kind of content, and I worry that many many people will be even more discouraged to do relic stuff due to how solo-unfriendly this content is.

    But, is it confirmed that this IS the relic weapon equivalent on Stormblood? Because it's so weird to not have a dedicated quest to the weapon, and to me it's seems like Eureka is more like the Palace of the Dead "get yo fancy weps here" equivalent, than the actual relic weapon quests.

    Yeah, I'm not sure how many people will be into this after the usual FFXIV two week curse. The little beach area is pretty empty now in the instances i've been in, and that's leveling solo up to 4. There's going to be some pretty big barriers to doing this if you come into it late I think.

    Also, this has to be the relic. There simply isn't time left to have any form of significant grind if they started in in the next .15 or .25 patch. The starting level of 335 for gear makes me think it should have been released with 4.1, but they delayed it a lot.

    What was everybody's expectations for Eureka?

    From the information that was given and my limited way to understand it, I thought Eureka was going to be a combination of PotD and Diadem.

    Maybe taking the idea of aetheral gear from PoTD but calling it elemental gear that you enhance as you explore through Eureka. And then putting in missions and fates similar to Diadem in to help enhance the elemental gear. Once the elemental gear is maxed out you can trade it for the physical relic gear or upgrade to another tier of elemental gear.

    I recall a mission in Diadem where we protect a party member as they transport an egg, that was pretty fun to do and different from just zerging a fate or killing x-amount of enemies. In Trials of the Matron you can finish up missions by gathering which was a nice change of pace.

    I even thought the puzzle instance they had during the Valentine's Day event was them testing out doing puzzles in the game for Eureka and that'd play a role.

    And the weather influx that was originally talked about sounded like different monsters will appear during certain conditions and maybe working to take advantage of when the weather changes occur. Like leading mobs into tornados that toss them up into the air giving them wind weakness. Maybe that's in there, the group I was with mostly stayed in one area killing monsters. So far with the elemental board I haven't noticed too much of a buff then again when your mindlessly grinding mobs in a group its hard to notice a real difference.

    The current Eureka just seems like a normal map with HP-bloated monsters in it and no other substance. Monsters are just crowded together and doesn't give it a natural feel to the island and is just another reminder that this is a MMO.

    I haven't had the chance to really explore the map since I'm only level 4 and further in enemies get to level 10 and above so its been fairly intimidating. I'm generally disappointed with Eureka. Having to re-level my character up just to take part in NM fates just seems tiring to me. If Eureka was just going to be kill mobs and collect crystals, they could've just done that with the Fates in Othard and Doma. There's no need for a whole new map.

    Everybody here on the forums have come up with some fun idea that Eureka could've done like making and protecting settlements, aiding in monster research, and whatnot. I'll probably only do Eureka if my FC is doing it or if I have free time so I can advance the story in there. Else for relic farming I'll probably just wait until a year passes and SE ends up buffing how much crystal and exp you get for it.

    I play at different times on weekdays when my hubby. On the weekend we will be different levels and inturn it's harder to play together, in this content because if I'm say level 6 and he is still level 3. I am not getting the reward because he isn't able to keep up with what I'm fighting.
    To have a chance of really progressing in what should be causual content, the content what is for the tear of player that don't have the skill to raids is forced to party often with people at vastly different levels. The Eureka should be instances should be scaled to the level of the person going in, or a Eureka level sync is needed. I am not really interested in getting to cap quickly if it means I'm at level 20 and my hubby is only level 10. It just means he will not be helping me kill the mobs I need to kill to get chains.

    Ya ya I could go kill level 10 mobs but that really sucks for me. when you think I need 5000+ drops still

    Also it seems the content was delayed more then once but they releaced it all as if it wasn't behind schedule.

    +1 should have been out with 4.0
    +2 should have been out with 4.1
    current final form should have been out in 4.2

    Also The lux weapon should have let you skip a step as a reward to anyone that took the time to do it.

    on turn in your lux weapon for 100 Anemos Crystals.

    If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
    If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
    If I play healer I only give it out to tank.

    Only if they should be getting a commendation.
    There are always exceptions to the rules!

    I only spent an hour in there before leaving. if I want endless/mindless grindy material, I would go play F2P Korean games.

    Eureka is trash and locking relic behind was a huge no-no. :l
