What's your first impression of Eureka?

I continued to play Eureka for a couple of hours last night, and by the end of it, my hand was aching and I was falling asleep.

Grindy content without daily rewards / quests is bad design.

Im inclined to disagree that dailies are a good thing. If the reward for the grind was actually good then it would be nice to have this kind of content in the game. I for one would like to have something I can work towards at any time and feel like im making tangible progress like the relics of FF11. Rather than logging in to do the daily and logging out after they're done because its more time efficient to stop playing until tomorrow rather than grind.

The story is what helps me get through this. More so than any relic, a bit of story I'm interested in is a better award for me.

I play mostly for the story as well but the Krile line seems more like SE decided throw it in there so they could say that Eureka is part of the story. So far there is no meat to her character other than the Aether shards are broken go find out why. Oh it was crystals again. well why don't you keep them. After 17 months they could have come up with a fuller story.

After spending 3-4 hours last night going from Elemental Level 5 to 6, I returned today to find I was back at Elemental Level 5.

Updated impression: Nope. Never touching it again. Ugh... the better things I could have done with my time.

Unless you've completed the storyline, I don't think anyone has the right to pass judgement like that. I'd also argue that we're likely to receive more content in the coming patches and this one was mostly the introduction to the system, it won't be all we'll see from either the system, the awards, nor the story.
That has no bearing on how much one enjoys the system as it is or not, mind. Just that it's unfair to judge a story based on what's obviously only its first patch.

they said it playable solo. well this is bullshit. you cant grind properly alone. and if you scream around lfg and stuff you just get ignored. this relic/anima/whatever is crap. this need a fix to do it solo. im happy that my sub is running out tomorrow.

Sure it is. We've already had a few interaction just getting to level 5 that are basically one liners. SE also has many other examples where they did it well from the beginning. The Hildibrand adventures are one example. For Krile SE cold have spent a little more time and instead of searching for the same thing over and over have us find her old dwelling and look for an old lost item or acquire a series of items.

Okay now that I have done it, it's not bad but it presents some issues as in the gear just isn't good at all lol maybe if il360, right below savage gear I would be fine with...the exp gain after lvl 5 is as slow as mud and makes it extremely Grindy and I had a friend die at lvl 6 and lost all 8000 of his experience because of no raise of course but for the low gain of exp that death penalty is awful.....

I like the NM fights I feel really engaged with a group of people kind of like the fatr grinding if you ignored the Grindy part it presented some great comraderie and lasting friendships....

Unfortunately I have never been a fan of grinding lol i did enough of that in the dunes so once I obtain my wep which I can't ignore I will not step foot back in this hamster wheel..
