Don't worry! In a couple of weeks it'll be empty enough to play like FFXI. =PExcept it is nothing like FFXI. In FFXI only your party could fight a mob at any given time (even though it was grindy), therefore the gameplay was relevant at all time. Here due to the fact that there aren't any limitation on the number of players that can fight a mob at any given time, it is basically like all the open world content in FFXIV : a mindless zergfest.

I dont think is bad, its just that it seems too little for how long they took to deliver, maybe it could have been better recieved if they released new weapon and armor models instead of the aura ones, it seems it will be a long grind for a weapon and armor that will be outdated on the next patch (and tome weapons and armors), eureka needs to have more and usefull rewards to stay relevant
It's shows they've learned nothing. We complained about Dino Island so instead they give us Monster Island and make the solo/party participation penalty even worse than its ever been in this game before.
Dyable AF1 and AF2 were simple enough to get, but this is the only way to upgrade AF3; which is locked behind three bloody gear tiers for no reason, and its absolutely disgusting in every sense of the word.
I've basically seen all I needed to in the first half hour.
Which is don't bother unless you want to zerg. So much for something reasonably doable with a friend.
Especially when you consider some people might have wanted to gear all 15 jobs with new AF. I personally don't mind a grind, but hmm... Now it just seems like pick and choose the best glamour pieces.

So with "third time's a charm" being a flop for the New New content. Can they just remake XIV AGAIN and make it an action MMORPG? They'd get more subs...
Been years since using this forum. @_@
So...I spent 2 1/2 hours in here, got to level 3, then did math, it takes 4300 Protean crystals to get a full set of the +2 gear for a single job. I'm...I'm just all sorts of good right now...
I think it just highlights the continued core issue that they have created a game with such simplistic, watered down itemization that it's impossible for them to create incentives for the player base to want to consume new types of content. Diadem was DOA mostly because there was no real reason to do it and Eureka looks to suffer from the same issue. An extremely small subset of people want to actually put up with the grind to get gear that is already outdated. Glamour isn't worth it and this will end up being ignored by much of the population.
Maybe if they were not so concerned with exclusion, they could start adding rewards to this new content like a key item that allows you to add an additional materia slot to ANY weapon or some other reward that gives your character some kind of permanent boost to performance. This "new content" every other patch cycle is doomed if they can't start offering rewards beyond glamour, minions and mounts.
I am stuck at work and have not touched it yet. Already I am dreading to do so because of what I am hearing. Feel like I have better chances grinding in Diablo 3 then in Eureka. I was more hoping for a new daily quest hub with some interesting story and the option to grind if you want. Instead we just got grind.
