I'm pretty sure that everyone who has been here for a while knew that Balmung was going to be closed pretty quickly. The problem with your advanced notice suggestion is that if they do give an advanced notice, they run a risk of getting a huge influx of players and run the risk of making the congested server even worse. Honestly, while the devs do take some flak for this situation, this is a problem that the community brought on themselves as well.
