If yer goin in as dps im fine with you leaving, just dont do that as a tank with a newbie co-tank cause then you're making everyone suffer.
I dont want it removed from the roulette though, dps wait time is long enough as it is.
Back when I was going through the MSQ and I got these two for the first time I went in as a tank and was extremely nervous going in blind not knowing what to do. I was very thankful that I happened to get a mentor co-tank for both of these and they were very nice. It made me feel a lot better about tackling these and I had the chance to start learning.
Now that I'm a mentor I have no problem at all queuing for either of these, because I know there's other new players that are nervous about doing them for the first time. I've never had either of these in the mentor roulette, but I do occasionally queue in for them in the MSQ roulette.
There's a lot of mentors that are in it just for the title or rewards. That's not why I signed up, and I have no problems spending a little time in older content if it means a new player's experience is better or they get to advance with the story.
Basically, if you don't have the patience for it, don't do the roulette.
So are all the other roulettes, yet each of them are specifically geared towards target categories or goals.
We can't mentor people on how best to watch their forcibly viewed cutscenes.
If such instances are to remain on mentor roulette they should at least have content-dependent bonuses based on where the roulette actually sends you, as some areas of content take far longer than others; all other roulettes time out to similar totals between their possibilities.
Leaving it as is discourages mentors either or both from joining the queue at all or trying to teach anyone in a location where the instance allows so little allows for teaching, at least compared to literally anything else.
I like that Mentor Roulette can fill any and all queues, but it at least needs not to uniquely suffer from that fact.
Regardless if Mentor Roulettes has the dungeons that has unskippable cutscenes, don't ignore the fact that the Mentor Roulette includes extreme primals from ALL of A Realm Reborn and Heavensward Patches. So are all the other roulettes, yet each of them are specifically geared towards target categories or goals.

While Castrum Meridianum and Praetorium has those mandatory cutscenes, they can be cleared easily. It helps new people go further in the story and rewards people with at least something for winning (tomes, gil, exp, time shared during cutscenes, etc.) Rewards may or may not be taken for granted. Your mileage may vary.
If you get Extreme Primals like Thordan, Sephirot, or Zurvan EX in Mentor Roulette, how long will it take you to explain the significant mechanics? Will the new people "care" about how to apply the mechanics "taught" during the fight? Can you apply the strats learned in a 60 minute timeframe? Stuff like Thordan's Spear of the Fury, Sephirot's purple/green aoe baits, and Zurvan's Broken Seal come to mind.
Keep in mind even the good farm parties flub the tough mechanics from time to time in Extreme Primals.

It's funny that before the MSQ duties were amended to force watch the cutscenes, no one really cared if it was in Mentor Roulette or not. But now suddenly because there were changed, no one wants to sit around for 40min+ waiting for it to all process along. To be honest if you are queuing for Mentor Roulette, you should be expected to have sufficient time put to one side to do it because yeah you might get some easy guildhest, but you also may very well get one of the Extreme Trials and we all know they aren't going to go fast. No one is expecting you to stay the full duration explaining all the mechs and wiping non stop, but you did queue to either to help new players or fill queues so make an effort or don't bother queuing. Mentor Roulette ain't anyone's own personal roulette just so they can get easy stuff.
I would run Castrum/Praetorium anyday over EX trials or raids like Alexander that aren't even needed for anything.
Some of the posts in this thread remind me why I avoid mentors like the plague. It's a program SE needs to either overhaul or scrap because the majority of them aren't doing anything to help the game more enjoyable for the new player. They're just trying to blast through content as fast as possible for the sake of getting closer to the roulette achievement and don't care that it creates a worse experience for the players they are presumably there to help.
