NON-RAIDER - HAVE AN OPTION FOR CREATION/MENACITY TOMESTONES TO GET WEAPONS/ITEMS

i'm not into the raiding scene for the moment but one day may give it a try.

But another option for us non-raiders to get those tomestones weapons & the items that are used to upgrade the weapons, gear, & accessories is to use the present tomestones.

No weekly lockouts for Creation tomestones. If you already have your i330 gear & accessories & you can buy the Rowena Tokens...then why not use the tomestones to purchase the TWINE & the GLAZE to upgrade your gear & accessories; why not use the tomestones to purchase the EARLY MODEL TOMESTONE - for example, purchase it for 2000 Creation Tomestones.

You can already easily upgrade Creation gear now by running Rabanastre multiple times. At the end of every run, you receive a Rabanastre Coin that you can trade in to the NPC beside the Tomestone Gear Vendor in Rhalgr’s for Lost Allagan Glaze, Twines, and Roborants. To get the Early Model Tomestones for i330 weapons, you just need to run V4N (Deltascape) 4 times for 4 Deltascape Crystalloids. They drop each run now.

If you are talking about Mendacity gear, Patch 4.3 will feature the second 24-man raid, which will drop a similar coin once a week that you can use to exchange for the current Glazes and Twines and upgrade your right and left sides, respectively, to i370. The weapon upgrade will still be locked behind Savage until they decide to add it to the list for Coin exchange, but the relics are supposed to be released with Eureka, which comes out tomorrow morning at 3am PST. It will probably be comparable to the i360 Tomestone weapon in the beginning, but eventually grows to be on par with Savage weapons by the end of an expansion—and they’re usually automatic BiS if they follow past formula where we could customize our stats, making them better than Savage in the end.

Same goes with the Menacity Tomestones w/ the weekly lockout.

Mendacity Gear upgrades will come in Patch 4.3, as all current tomestone gear upgrades do for non-raiders. Right now, i360 is more than enough if you aren’t doing Savage content (it’s enough for Savage, too).

Even though it maybe a grind...a GRIND IS A GRIND...atleast its option for us non raiders.

To be fair, you don’t need i360/i370 for the current casual content (Expert Roulette, Sigmascape Normal, 24-mans); you don’t even need i360/i370 for Savage or Ex, which can be cleared with an item level of less. The upgrades are given to raiders as a reward for them doing the hardest content in the game, and are made available to the more casual side of the playerbase ~3-4 months afterwards (major Patches usually are released within 15~16 weeks of each other).

If you’re at least i340 (which is easily obtainable since Patch 4.1), then you are fine for most content in the game (even Byakko Ex, which will give you i355 weapons/tokens to buy an i355 weapon, if you so desired). If you do not plan to raid (by raid, I mean raid in Savage content), then you do not need an i370 weapon. All content can be done with i355/i360 weapons.

I'm not a raider by any stretch (not in a static, nor cleared any Extremes outside ARR) but I don't have any issues running 24 man content.

I really want to know what you need the higher ilv gear for if you're not gonna raid?

If you want to give Rabanastre a try I'd go with you, this really isn't necessary. If you're geared enough to get in to Rab you're geared enough to clear it as a casual player at this point because most groups outgear it by so much.

Its an idea but I don't think it's necessary. Also if you aren't participating in even normal mode raids I'm not sure what you would need that upgraded gear for exactly?

You can do it! Just be prepared to die a few times in Rabanastre. Always happens to first timers.

Don’t be ashamed of it either. It’s basically a right of passage to die to Hashmal’s Extreme Edge dash attack.
