    Hey, 600 people will have it! Maybe 780, if team rewards are back.

    Still less than Ultimate clears, which are at 2200, but at least you don't need to be quite as skilled for it. Last season even had a whole buncha Platinums in the top 100 and you don't even need to be able to maintain a 50% winrate for platinum, as you get more points for a win than you lose for a loss baseline until Diamond.

    Yeah but if you can't commit too much first days games simply stop popping for you because how the Matchmaking been working lately and how everyone actively playing will be too far ahead.

    Comparing to Ultimate is not a bad comparison but not a good one either. Remember the game's main focus is PvE yet any PvE reward is retroactive. While Ultimate's reward is just farmable weapons and a title to anyone that clears anytime. PvP rewards are just for a ridiculously small ammount of people playing a mostly dead content with a bad matchmaking and broken ranking system and then it will be gone forever.

    "Otherwise no one would do it." But the rewards rarely get new people into PvP. No one wants to go through a system they can't win against because they're new. I keep trying to get friends into the PvP and they keep saying they don't want to because the rewards are most likely unachievable for them and there are no rewards otherwise but a random accessory.

    Actually, the ranking has been changed. Before, people would get to a safe space then not queue to risk losing a major amount of points. Now, however, they have changed it so only your high score counts. That means that say you were on 2000 points, for example, then lost a game, your points will go down to 1940 or so. However, the leaderboard only counts your TOP score, so the 2000 would still be there. This means you can no longer 'lose' points on the leaderboard and, as there is no longer any risk of losing your points and place, that the queues will stay much more active throughout.

    I don't understand what your solution would be. Have no prizes for the top 100? Or miniscule ones that they did in the past, like earrings? If that's the case, no-one would play. Again, if the rewards were available elsewhere via achievement grinding (even feast training), it would destroy ranked. Why put in the hours of effort and training and skill for the season if you can just get it, stress free, via unranked?

    Could implement the system they did to weapons to all rewards. That would get players that get low ranks to keep trying season after season and populate PvP. They would still have to wait season's changes to get a fraction of the reward they want keeping them in game playing for the next season. While top winners would have easy access to those rewards. That's what most games with rankings do nowadays.

    This would also have more people showing off the rewards around the game's world probably encouraging more people to play PvP in the long run.

    I'm not sure Ultimate is a good comparison, it's reward is for the challenge of the content but the challenge is always there this will number limited and not helped by the fact that it will quickly be almost impossible to rank up once everyone stop playing after 2 weeks. It doesn't work as incentive to start PVPing as it's unlikely you have any chance of getting it as you'll be competing with the experienced crowd and the none 100 rewards are terrible

    But then, like I said before, it would devaluate the point of the leaderboard. Top 100 players put in hours and months of games and dedication towards these prizes - is it fair to have these prizes obtainable after 3 seasons by bronze players who put in a single hour of playtime towards the feast?


    Prizes are notorious as they are, and already inspire me. I see someone with S1 gear - "Oh look, that's a Season 1 Winner!", see someone with the Hellhound mounts, it's the same. The prizes are noticeable and make you instantly recognize the season.

    Why make things free for all? It's like giving the Ultimate Bahamut title and weapon away for Sigmascape tomes. Savage tomes or not, it's not the same and it's not fair.

    Yeah, Overwatch, League of Legends, Heartstone, Shadowverse they all devaluate their leaderboard a lot right. Maybe they're dead games too.

    It's not free though? Players that score lower would take more time than players scoring higher to achieve what they want. They can either keep riding the slow time and populate PvP matches for longer or strive to become better and engage competition.

    To make you recognize the season they can make the "buyable" versions be washed out or different. Kind of like Garo's Gold Saucer pieces aren't dyable. Or how Season 1 and 2 (3 and 4 and so on) rewards are similar but with small differences. Season recognition is the easiest thing to do.

    I think very few people can recognise the PVP rewards, and it's not like you can even see this one in the mode it comes from.

    I love the rewards of The Feast but I have never managed to get any because even in the first week the queues are too long for me. I think you should be able to get past rewards with Frontline achievements.
