I appreciate what they tried to do. Since a few events, I have the feeling they try something new. I mean, a FATE in a City-State ! WTF !
But well, except that, the rewards are ridiculous and you spend 20 minutes on the even and then you carry on... Too bad.

We had a FATE in Ul'dah for Halloween a few years ago. I remember since it was a nightmare on PS3 with the targets not loading quickly so it was hard to get credit.
I wouldn't be surprised if the credit issues on this FATE were due to congestion and it gets easier when fewer people are doing the FATE.

Had zero problems with this myself. Just hitting the skill for whoever's active. Hell, I question whether it matters at all if you focus your "preferred" color when 2 or 3 are up.

But I also did it a couple days after release, during dead hours. Could be entirely possible this suffers from the same FATE limitation of old, having a hard limit on the number of rewards it can give?

With any luck, Narumi's comments may be hinting at something besides Songbirds next year. Would think there's only so much devs could do with the pop idol theme.

I did it today on my main and some alts. On one attempt I joined when the Fate was already 1/3 done and still got Gold. On another attempt I was there from the beginning but pressed the wrong cheer a couple of times and still got full credit.
So I'm going to go with the issues being due to congestion making it hard for every participant to get full rewards.

To add my 2 cents.

1: The fate isn't as what it seems at first and at best they should have written it better - when you pick your color - your just really picking your favorite singer...there's no real impact honestly.
2: The fate is very straight forward - just watch the NPC's - you don't need to stick to one singer - you simply pick a random singer that's target-able - and match the color - so if the blue one sings - you use the blue sticks - red ...red....and so forth. You can rotate through each singer - provided you MATCH the color - you will always get 2 certs. I did this after my first two "learning" attempts for an hour straight and managed to get the same reward every time. There doesn't appear to be a "2x" bonus either - As the max reward is 2 cert's from what I observed. Sticking to one singer color only is actually worse - did that first time and only got 1 cert.
3: The website is misleading - I've already filed a complaint - it infers you get the clothes as a reward and other things - when in fact this is not the case - its like they got lazy and used last years graphics and didn't bother giving a damn about being accurate. It would be different if they showed you getting emotes and the furniture set piece...but it didn't at the time I looked - nor have I got a reply. Expectations? Acknowledgement they messed up - beyond that i don't care too much - yes its on mogstation - but still they should be more accurate in the description.

Have to admit...aside from my complaint - best event yet so far.

...how is the website missleading? It does not mention in the slightest that you'll get any clothes as reward. Infact it lists the rewards with no mention of clothes.
"Certain items available during previous iterations of the event can be obtained via the Seasonal Shop." is refering, as always, to the fireworks.
The only point that might seem irritating is that the quest itself mentions that you need to go and collect an outfit from the weavers guild. But I dont see any problem with the website?

I really would hope they would love away from always tying-in fates with the events.
