Honestly, just the fact that we have to learn how to do all the current content with highly changed classes/combo system is what I would consider a lot of content. While the content isn't exactly new, it will be a different experience for all the new ones and the Dark Moogle Primal.
True enough this next patch is lacking in content per-say as in stuff to do but it is full of content like AH like wards, class changes, stat allocation, combos, etc. I have a feeling 1.21 is when we will likely see another battle and probably more dungeons enter the scene. But back to 1.20 the patch has enough in it to make most of us happy until 1.21 comes out and hopefully Moogle fight doesn't get pwned by Blue Gartr in the first week, lol. I would actually like to see some progression happen by the more hardcore LS such as them or by the LS I am in.Hey all, I haven't been playing much lately at all because the lack of content gives me very little reason to log in. Once you have your Ifrit weapons of choice and some materia in your gear, there just isn't too much else to do. I just read the letter from Yoshi, and see that 1.20 will pretty much only contain the primal moogle battle as far as content goes. I imagine once people have it on farm a week or two after release, many of us may end up taking an extended break till 1.21 or (possibly) until v2.0 if they haven't already.
I understand that the system revamps (making the game actually playable) are far more important than playable content at this point, but it's still gonna be a huge bummer seeing the player-base dwindle because of the lack of new things to do. At this point, I look at the current game as more of a stepping stone for v2.0 (we're basically beta testers until next year), which will be when we'll actually want to play this game full-time.
So I wanted to know how others viewed this dearth of content, and if you all will still be logging in regularly for the next patch and beyond. Do you plan to stick around?
P.S., do not misread this as some kind of developer bashing thread. Lack of content is a reality we will have to deal with until the core game systems are fixed and up to par, so I'm sure all of us expected this time to come.
P.P.S., best of luck to Yoshi's team on continuing to make improvements to the game, hope the road to v2.0 continues along smoothly.
may be a bummer op but core changes are still #1 in priority....or at least they should be. the game is only beginning to crawl, cant expect it to run quite yet.
i do feel for those that spend alot of time in it and i realize more content would be very nice, but more content and still a horrid hideous and bad bad battle system to me,...isnt good enough
fix the core then worry about content.
sadly its taking very long for that, but personally i think their focus is where it should be at present
♥ MORE HIGH HEELS + INSTANCED HOUSING! ♥!
this because apparently we have to develop the fun for this game. not the people who made it the game.
not hating on developers, but the people who think just because they enjoy the low level stuff and there are other activities to do, does NOT mean everyone enjoys it, and to tell someone to go do that stuff or else their opinion is moot.... well ive killed ifrit a few times and batraal once, from my POV (and others as well) this game just gets boring. My response (and again others as well) has been to just play skyrim till SE sorts their S*** out. i like this game and if i have to ill make a new char at 2.0 so i can enjoy the new experience. as it is, my sneak, speechcraft pickpocketing, lockpicking, and archery are all at or near 100. im goin to the shadows now with that snowy miqote!

I don't understand why they dont just push out content til 2.0. I mean it would keep us busy while we wait for 2.0. Are we caring more about battle changes at this point more than content? They could just have all the battle fixes ready to go at 2.0 while we can have stuff to do now. I don't see a need to change the battle mechanics at this point.

but itl never be enough, as i said, for those who have already done it all
they can add 5 more bosses to fight this patch, and within 2 weeks we will once again "not have enough content" in the eyes of those who start threads like these

I think what they need to do is make the gear dropped by NM's and primal to be better than crafted gear. This would give more incentive to do the content that is already in game. Without proper incentive, the content that is already in game has no value besides for just the sake of doing it which would only hold value for the first time doing it. Even if they push out more content, what would be the incentive in doing it if the gear dropped sucks? Content with incentive is the only content worth doing, hence I see that as the only thing that could be describes as content. Other than that, it is just a filler for the very bored player base.

and theyve talked about making it slottable with materia
so its not that they need to make it better, they need to make it compatible with the materia system

I agree. I think making the gear compatible with materia will increase the incentive to do the content already in game and would keep us busy for a while. We just need more incentive to do the things we have now along with the content they plan to put in game until 2.0.
