    Yeah you could AA up close via punch I guess but then face the same problem PGL has in getting hit with Sears (or having to jump in and out trying to avoid it).
    My main is pug, but i feel it's more of an issue with the fight not being balanced around multiple classes.

    Auto-attack on all classes is pretty weak, most of the dps comes from the TP attacks.
    Besides, the Ifrit fight is more about survival than DPS, and animation lock is usually what kills every class on that fight.
    Especially true for mages who have longer cast times than our light shot attacks.

    And on Ifrit it's a lose lose for ARC. You either sacrifice damage and take the auto lock, or you sacrifice damage and get in range for melee, taking damage from Sear.

    Seriously, there's literally no excuse for not having ranged AA.

    Sure there is. Con/Thm do not get ranged attacks. How do you justify a ranged mellee class getting a ranged mellee AA if you do not have ranged magic AA for the 2 ranged magic classes ?

    That said, I am all for a ranged AA for archers.

    Unlike ARC, CON/THM don't rely on TP for damage. So the point is pretty moot.

    Steady us of light shot and close shot and heavy shot, will do a steady and staple amount of damage and cost 0 TP. Every other ability was nerfed to far to be of significant damage. Either way the most important factor they have in common is damage at a safe ranged distance. Thus your point about my point being moot, is a moot point. Now say that 3 times real fast.

    I would but I think I'd hurt myself.

    Either way I hope to god the devs give in soon. ARC is pretty interesting, but being glued to the ground is a real PITA.

    What kind of nonsense is that? Heavy shot's recast time is 30 seconds! And close shot has a very short range. Maybe you shouldn't give advices on how to play an archer if your own is barely lv. 32?

    Why do you incorrectly make asinine assumptions that I am giving advice on how to play?

    I am making a comparison of TP usage and ranged damage with archer and mage classes. If you chose to be a constructive part of the conversation, please do.

    Thanks for stating the recast time captain obvious. That was my point, is that it is the same recast as the mages equivalent ability.

    Before you attept to moderate the discussion and tell myself and other posters that we are not qualified to have an opinion because of our class level perhaps you should apply that to yourself. You archer is not 50 either. Your highest mage class is 14 so you have no basis for comparison.

    there was no need to jump in, be clueless about it as you do, and attempt to randomly insult and belittle my opinion because of my class level, but hey, I can do that also. Tell me if it makes you feel better about being part of the debate.

    So why don't you go finish your homework sonny boy, and let the grown ups talk.
