We keep getting hairstyles but almost nothing else.

Keep in mind that sometime we are more than 200 players on the same boss, like ixion or SB S rank... FFXIV is extremely smooth that's the reason why they must limit the the customization to maintain framerate. I would love to have have a character editor like Star trek online or APB reloaded but the game should pay a too high price to handle all the characheter...

No matter how much or how little customization is available, having that many people casting spells and using abilities in a small area will cause anyone anywhere to lag or at the very least suffer some fps loss. The game usually plays pretty smoothly otherwise, but it's still running on a dated engine and dated servers which could both use a pretty big upgrade. They limited themselves when they made 2.0, and slowly but surely they are paying the price for it. 2 expansions in and we haven't really seen much improvement...and that's also with removing PS3 support. Something is wrong with this picture, especially with how much money this game makes per month. I have no numbers to back myself up, but I have no doubt it's a pretty hefty sum.

Is it me, or do most hairstyles look better on Miqo'te than the other races (besides the side meatballs)? I was an Au Ra for a while, but I keep going back to Miqo'te because the hairstyles just look better on them for some reason. Maybe it's the ears?

I think some of the generic hairstyles don't look so good on Au Ra because of the horns? Their race-specific hairstyles look better on them.

Don't forget the cheap to make broken Shiva statues and other stuff people on this game blindly buy. There's even some people I follow on Twitter and they burn trough 20 fantasias a day, and there are a lot of people like that.

Meanwhile I'm here since 2014 and a mount is the only thing I bought in the shop, never used a fantasia and tbh don't really understand why I would want to change.

Subs are noting, they are making tons of money by milking fantasia to all the RP people who keep buying them.

We all should mass cancel our subs and stop buying and maybe then they'll consider upgrading servers.

Even if it's broken, why spend so much money on servers when people will keep playing regardless?

Nah, we shouldn't buy other SE games since they love "modernizing" their games. There's no reason for VII remake to be an action RPG. There is nothing wrong with turn based games. They need to stick to what made them in the first place.

I have not a "killerpc" (i7 4770k, 16g, and 750ti) and i can run this game without any lag... only console players complain about lags, and c'mon even if the game engine is "old" like you said, FFXIV is not a ugly game, in fact is a very beautiful mmo with a very coherent gamedesign. and i prefer this kind of design rather that photorealistic overcontrasted game with abuse of bloom. imo ffxiv is more beautiful than black desert online (where every npc is Joey Tribianni) !
