You can do every job, and that (or crafting, or the other two gathering classes you aren't playing) are a majority of people's 'other' time. Games. Triple Triad. Gold Saucer. Housing. Beast Tribes. But if your sole focus is endgame on a tank, this might not be the game for you, because this game focuses on adding a little bit for everything instead of a lot for endgame.
I think this is probably the most accurate response, rather than saying something meaningless like "just TRY leveling some other jobs, even though you said you had no interest in it". This game is not a game suited for a "one main only" type of playstyle, full stop. Expansion endgame content comes out at a trickle because the developers are basically anticipating that people want to level and gear up multiple jobs through the course of a patches' life cycle. I can completely sympathize with the OP, tbh - I'm a healer main, I have some other things leveled but literally don't touch any level-capped content with other jobs because healing is what I like to do. I don't expect XIV to change an aspect of its game design that people really love, but I wouldn't want people to tell me to "just do stuff you're not interested in just for the sake of doing it" if I said I was bored. Instead I think the best response is probably, "play something else until some new endgame comes out for your tank class", which is precisely what I do between content updates.

I spend a large amount of my time just wandering about appreciating the environments... I'll do undersized dungeons like walking tours... the amount of detail in this game can be impressive... I try to do the same with my housing... I also spend alot of time on my characters look... sometimes I'll join hunts or do maps... I farm for mounts... I pseudo-role play (Marlboro doesn't really have a rp community)... I'll race and breed chocobos... sometimes I just wander around and beat the ever living crap out of random.enemies (like wiping out the entire Castrum near wine port)... plenty to do...

At this point I'm chasing achievements. There are so many achievements in this game that most people who have been playing for years are still nowhere close to max. I'm at 8920 and I think the current cap is over 15,000. Globally, less than a hundred players are even over 14,000.

I think this is a common feeling with many MMOs tbh. I think the reason I keep playing is because I take my time with content. I don't really rush to the end or feel the need to clear the newest content within the first week. That and I play a lot of different games. I bounce between MMOs because like I said it's a common thing in MMOs to have a stale period.

The key to enjoying this game is finding a decent Free Company that isn't a flash in the pan and level at least two jobs. The game is a social experience and unfortunately on servers like Balmung, there are hundreds of derelict FCs that are running around with no real intent of expanding or have leaders that basically don't want to take responsibility to run events. The fault of this is really on SE's shoulders due to how they implemented the housing system. Free Companies should be entities meant to help organized play and not a tool to get access to special personal benefits.

This is because the achievements are some of the stupidest I have ever seen. To get a Master Miner title, you need to mine 20,000 HQ ores. We're talking at best a 15% chance normally. probably 20% lifetime to HQ. That means maybe 60,000 or more attempts, for one achievement, and Botanist has the same one. Every single craft has a 10,000 HQ achievement. It's literally impossible I think to get all of them unless you do nothing but craft and gather for 5 years.

I have about 8.5k points, so i'm close to you, but I want to smack whoever designed some of those achievements. Sometimes they are so much they don't get beaten in time; PvP has that problem; the mode gets obsolete before u can get the achievements unless you full time it.

I'm having some difficulties understanding how you're running out of things to do as a raider? Unless you've already cleared the whole tier? For me raiding means having to cap tomestones every week and running Sigmascape normals for loot every week (until i350 in every slot, then just floor 4 for weapon tokens unless you have other jobs). Combine this with making some gil for food and potions (unless you already have plenty), and you already have a lot of things to spend game time on before even counting in the hours used for actual raiding. I'm personally having some difficulties even managing this with working full time and having other hobbies besides gaming.
