My Opinion of the Little Ladies Day Event

Women have more clothing options in game has you riled up? Nobody let the OP near any shopping center.... any mall has like 10x the amount of women's clothing stores compared to men... males have suits, jeans, t shirts, shorts and boots and shoes... that's not even the actual armor sets... what is OP wanting clothing wise? As for the event, it's a 2 week event once a year... there's a whole "Gentlemen's" side questline that's permanent....

The real disappointment with this event is I don't get that adorable artwork for my wall.

Dresses? Since when are robes dresses? If you want to get technical a dress is a dress no matter what you call it, just like how kilts are still skirts. And for the record long flowing open bottom clothes have been a gender neutral article of clothing since ages past. There was a time when pants didn't exist. When it comes down to it no one is born wearing clothing, so there's no such thing as male of female clothing as long as the fit is right. Humans just like to give things a gender label that don't have a gender. In today's world pink is thought of as a feminine color, while blue masculine, yet many decades in the past it was the opposite. So which is right? Neither. Colors are just different wave lengths of light being processed by our eyes. Also, FFXIV is a fantasy game. Comparing Haedalyn's customs to real life social constructs of your real life culture don't make sense. Masculine in one culture or time period can be different than masculine in another, just like masculine in one real life culture can differ from another real life culture, even in same time period. The biggest problem you face is being unable to free your mind from the way you've been conditioned by your real life culture. I'm not saying you have to like dresses, but I am saying not for the reason you're giving.

Edit: isn’t this event supposed to be loosely related to Hinamatsuri, which is a Japanese holiday that plays out an event in their history through dolls? Maybe I’m putting two unrelated things together, but I’m at work so I can’t do any cross referencing.

I love thread like this; absolutely pointless. Especially when the troll just disappears 1/3 way in to it lol. Good job sir. However I think this game needs more glamour for cleavage, from what I've seen it's design is quite withdrawn compared to some character models/design out there. I want Tifa's boobs on my monk damnit!

Too many masculine features to count as "looking" female, you'd have an argument for his hair but that's about it.

Also i know i'm not the only one who thought the white mage from the 1st one was a chick until SE many years later came out and said all of the characters in the first one were guys.

Those were... pixels. Plus, White Mage is a pretty effeminate job, have you seen the AF2 from Heavensward? Even the AF3 is pretty feminine.

Fact of the matter is, the male protagonists have a lot of male features in their face/silhouette. The only one who would you could have an argument for, again, is Cecil due to how he is the only protagonist with makeup prominently featured on him.

It's about how SE gives men the shaft in favor of women for the majority of their games (including this one.) They favor females cause for them cleavage sells their games. They have done NOTHING for men. They forget that guys also play their game too. We aren't seen as equal in their eyes. It's been apparent since FFX.
