The lack of actual playable content in 1.20 is a bummer. :( Discussion!

Considering we haven't played the patch we have no idea what's in it. Sont forget the quests, the company quests, and the 7th umberal area quests that they are adding each patch. If you arent satisfied, come back at 1.21 which jobs that way you'll have twice as much to do before the next patch comes out.

ifrit got old fast, grinding chests and materia at strongholds is retardedly boring now. killing the leaders and nm's is just for fun and achievements which is too damn easy to be considered a challenge or even end game. we needed a patch and more content weeks ago

The "lack of content" would be attributed to the fact that they're fixing an entire game at the moment, if I had to guess. If all they had to worry about was content, I imagine we'd be getting a lot more of it. As it stands though they've got just about everything in the game to change before content is their biggest concern. All the content in the world couldn't help a game that's shitty at its core.

There isnt a single MMO out there who can add content quick enough to keep people interested in anything but a "mindless repeat grind of it" patch after patch.

This especialy holds true for the people who are farming the current endgame stuff.

new stuff gets added, ignore old, farm new, finish it, complain again.

Its an endless cycle in MMOs, and the only real big gap in complaining comes from release of expansion level content cuz there is usualy more of it all at once.(i figure we will see this for 2.0, as a version jump usualy dictates expansion level)

I don't honestly believe you can think there is lack of content in this game:

I was in Top 20 US WoW guild and I logged in.... 3 hours per week.

FFXIV I have ~650 achievements (So Nero doesn't have to stalk!) and I play about 30 hours a week meaning at least for me, this game has 10x the content WoW had.

Its all about figuring out something to do, and if you have nothing to do just go play like Skyrim until 1.20 and do that content and play more Skyrim? IDK

I'm kind of in a lull myself right now because I'm tired of doing Ifrit over and over for the few weapons I'm missing. I'm not in a rush to level my classes to 50 so I'm not tackling that right now. I hope between the achievements and the other content they're adding this patch that it'll keep my interest until 1.21. Otherwise I may just shut off my content ID until then once I've done everything I want to accomplish this patch.

The highlighted comment is one of the most asinine comments I've read on these forums. The burden of relieving said boredom is on the developers, NOT the player!

So it is the developers job to make everyone happy? Impossible. If EVERYONE playing the game was bored, you would have a point. But it's not as much of a majority as the forums believe.

My point was that there is plenty of content that MANY people are quite happy with (myself included) so if the OP is bored, it is his own fault for ignoring the content that is there.

If he doesn't like what the game has to offer, that is perfectly fine, everyone is entitled to their opinion. But he should just play a different game, because whining that the game is empty is ignorant, and bad form.

He can dislike the game all he wants. He can say he doesn't like the content (if he bothers to go out and try it, which I doubt.) He CAN'T say there is no content. It's a lie, and I find it offensive that he would suggest much of the content isn't worthy of being in the game because he personally doesn't want to complete it, or even try it for that matter. It sends a bad message to the devs.

Strongholds, coffer key parties, dungeons, and primal fights, they all bore the crap out of me. Why?

Cause I have to be a god damn healer... 1.20 is supposed to fix that, but like a said in a previous thread/post I am not holding my breathe for it.

I am not getting to play as a role I can enjoy, so how can I enjoy the content?
