This isn't real life. Our characters don't need their house to store necessary items, for shelter or for physical privacy. The houses are the property of Square Enix, the lawns a part of the open world, so players who have paid to access the servers can parkour wherever they want including those lawns and rooftops and use whichever training dummies they see fit. It's also impossible to break into a FFXIV house to erp in the bathtub and whatnot. Whoever's in there has been allowed in by the owner.

The level of pettiness in this thread is astonishing. If someone is in your crafting spot / on your lawn / too close to your character, holy heavens get over it. And I certainly don't agree with this request to stop non-tenants from interacting with the training dummy I deliberately put in my garden.
