I've been through it a couple times now, once in 4.1 and once in 4.2. There's a few things that will be different for you, since the wards are all active so you can essentially just log out in front of the plot you want. That will make things both easier and harder for you.

1. Create a /busy macro so no one can open trade/invite to party to block you from buying.

2. Create a plan of attack, have backup plots in mind nearby in case your chosen plot gets taken from you. Memorize the aetheryte locations and names and be sure to be ready to sprint to the next house if need be.

3. Be prepared for a queue logging in after maintenance. I recommend signing in with your credentials before the servers come up, then click on the "worlds" button to refresh the launcher as soon as the clock hits the hour. The button will appear for you to log in after that. That way you don't need to waste time trying to type in your info last minute.

Gonna add to this, BE NAKED. I seem to load faster when my character has less to load. The less particle effects on you the better.

If you don't have an SSD don't be too worried, it's the lobby error that is your biggest foe.

My neighbours are already inactive. My personal is W16 P43 (13) in Shirogane with one market board in the area, and it's always a ghost town. x.x

I to am in ward 16 of Shirogane. On the first day people were talking in shout and I haven't seen anyone else really chat. Whenever I go around the ward I wave at whoever I see in hopes to become friends with my neighbors. Should come to plot 28 (big Carby house can't miss it XD) and say Hi sometime.

Doesn't change the fact that SE dropped the ball again, and always manage to get the community to accept their failures and take it out on other community members lol vs understand where other members are coming from / sympathize w/ them.

How exactly did they drop the ball again? I think they did housing right. My FC was finally able to get a mansion after waiting for over a year and a half now. We're all super happy. I'm on Leviathan which is a pretty populated server and there are still tons of small houses and even some mediums available. Last I checked almost all of the goblet mediums in the new wards were open. But no that's not good enough, we're all going to complain that they did housing wrong, not because you can't obtain a house, but because it's not your dream plot. My fc didn't get our dream plot, but even so we're extremely happy to just have a mansion finally. So suck it up, get a small, and when they release new wards, you will have first dibs to relocate. I could only imagine if they allowed personal purchases, my fc probably would not have gotten our mansion.

You don't have to be so upset about how you respond, noone was attacking you, and while I'm thrilled as well as others are that your FC got a house, it'd be great if you at least read what was going on with the situation , given that 1) larger servers don't have the luxury smaller servers do, and 2) the many small 4 man FC's created just to buy up plots which pretty much ruined chances for personal housing, which was 50% of the argument in the first place. You're directing your anger in the wrong fashion with assumptions, point of the matter is it could have been handled better.

SE dropped the ball by simply throwing more houses at the situation without taking the time to look at it, vs lower urself to the small bubble of what SE has lazily tossed look at the bigger picture, this isn't about me or u as individuals only or some selfish plea so drop the attitude, its about them handling it horribly because its simple looking as if they waited till the last minute and and just decided lets just limit things and give people a head start. Self entitlement that you got a house for your FC is a great thing and I'm sure it makes you want to bash anyone with even remotely a supportive stance on how things could have been better, but not here.

As for those that don't have Small plots left to pick up its nice to know that you could give "2 shits" about them, but have no issue bashing and assuming u know more about the situation since you're not even on other servers. This is about people not just you, so get over yourself. Just a classic example of SE getting the community to attack itself, you don't have to yellow nose this. I can only imagine how if you took the time to read things that you might actually have a different response.

How could they have made it better? Simple if they were going to shut out personal houses for the first batch, they could have simply introduced a 2nd batch of wards for personal housing afterwards, but the main point wasn't even that, given the survey of population, they could have constructed wards based on population, vs across all data centers as the same. What does that mean? I'll spell it out for you so you don't get to riled up from it.

Larger servers could have more wards to offset the amount of population based on it, while smaller servers could remain the same, so people like you don't have to sit around assuming all servers have the exact same population and people needing a house or wanting X specific houses because they'r supposedly angry for whatever reason you'd like to make up to help make urself sound compelling.

Let me know if you need me to break this down for you, since apparently you can't seem to stay calm without resorting to anger. Its called a discussion not a hate crime btw.

Oh hunni, I think YOU’RE the one who needs to calm down. The person you’re replying to did not seem angry at all, they were stating facts. They weren’t throwing insults and shade like you just did. I get housing in this game sucks, but calm down. What they said isn’t them being a jerk. It’s reality. Like it or not, with how the system is right now, you CAN NOT afford to be picky with what plot you get. Especially with such limited supply. Reality of the situation is housing sucks and there are few plots to choose from. You either deal with the cards you are given in the moment and buy whatever plot you can to put a foot in the door to possibly upgrade later, or you miss out. We all know SE is not going to make a permanent fix to this issue anytime soon, if ever. I personally have zero faith in them fixing it at this point. I don’t like it either, for I want to see more people enjoy housing, but right now all anyone can do is deal with what we have. A small house is better than nothing, and with a small you open the opportunity of relocating if your dream plot is ever available in the future.

I pray RNGesus looks kindly on all of those who are striving for a personal plot. I shall be rooting from the sidelines <3
