    This is true: this version of the relic does not encourage people to go back to old content so it has to be treat as new content with a different purpose.

    And in all fairness: this is still going to be casual. You can pop in and out at will, LFG in the area, your main job/class has no penalties. This is totally isolated content. If this were truly FFXI you'd go in as your main job and lose EXP on that.

    But doesn't that then mean that the relic content (or the old style, rather) has been "changed" or discontinued in favor of other content for other people? Isn't that precisely what you are trying to prevent from happening with Eureka?

    I mean, I can get not wanting a piece of content that appeals to you changed. But that is precisely the reason why the relic being put into Eureka might cause a lot of complaints and desire for changes if Eureka doesn't suit the previous relic hunter crowd. There's a connection between the arguments of you two and this is it <.<'

    So I shouldn't complain because you like what it seems to be like right now? If it fails to live up to the hype or fails to be adequate for a lull in content that we had in 4.15, you can bet those shades of yours that I will be complaining. Way it lines up too, it looks like a Diadem 3.0.

    I don't think anyone's trying to take it away from you. I'm pretty sure we'd all like for Eureka to be a colossal success rather than a total flop. But either SE is just awful at selling the idea to most of us or it truly is as bad as most suspect. Either way the longevity is largely out of your hands. If it's fun and engaging with worthwhile rewards, it'll thrive. Otherwise I'd prepare for another Diadem-style ghost town.

    i am not seeing how this isn't diadem, no monster no matter how strong is nothing with 128 people bashing it's face in.

    as long as its popular it will be a zerg (since the monsters are treated as fates as far as contribution goes)

    the only truely cool thing is since it's an instance this should mean we can hop in and out as we please like a normal map but play with people from other servers like we are on the same one.

    but diadems flaw was rewards/inconvenient access with this it fixes both.

    I just want them to release it already. This is a feature that we have known since Stormblood was first announced. Yet here we are, having it seen pushed back 3 times now.

    I'm hoping the delays prove to have been worthwhile, I'd much like to try and enjoy getting a relic for once.

    I can already see people coming on forums whining because of the death penalty.

    I truly hope they won't change anything about what they designed except if this new feature is obviously as bad as Diadem.

    That's the biggest issue and why it needed to be released with 4.0. There is usually a long downtime around patch X.1 that people are bored with and look for almost anything to do.
