The job sadly doesn't really evolve much between 50 and 70. You'll get a few upgrades, such as Impact, Verflare, and Verholy. But that's mostly it.

There will also be a few tricks to pull out an a little extra damage in the form of Manification and Embolden for raid utility.

I can honestly understand why. It's a tad OP as it is. And I'm not a raider so the latter point won't really affect me.

It definitely feels that way at first. You'll find as you progress and other jobs get their higher level skills (RDM start with "high" potency stuff because the job is essentially 50+) and become more adept at their jobs that you're not as strong relatively as you feel now. I saw it put well in another thread where RDM starts off well, but scales badly after 70. A RDM's group utility comes in the form of essentially "Cure 0.78" and Verraise, with a very limited help in Embolden. While a RDM can indeed pull off a nice save in a party (I've raised our healer in 4 man content a handful of times when stuff happens), its potency output doesn't increase as dramatically as other jobs as levels go up.

Now, that's not to say that it won't still be an enjoyable job, or that you won't enjoy the "easy to recover" aspect of a fairly simple play style. I still main it for a number of reasons. Just also realize that while you may feel like a demi-primal amongst (wo)men to start, that power scale will tip the other direction in time. You won't by any means be useless, but it might be a bit of a reality check at some point.
