After adventure go into the city, seek for a Goldsmith and then repair the item, then trade.
It sucks, like my sig, but it works like this =)

Or repair the item before the adventure start.
just to clear things up once again, i didnt state an opinion. i told you your facts were wrong. Thats a statement.I'm sorry. Perhaps I wasn't clear by saying "IN COMBAT". Or I guess it wasn't obvious that gear damage was accumulated by recieving damage. Because, you know. Its not like almost every other MMORPG shares the same system.
Thank you for reminding me why both your opinions and this thread are equally awful.
My facts were correct.
"IMO the only reason repairs are in game is cause they do not have anything to replace it with yet."
SOUNDS LIKE AN OPINION TO ME.
Please let this fail thread die.

agree with OP.
I liked what Rift did with its death penalty.
Lose Vitality on death and have an NPC healer repair your soul/spirit for X amount of gold, SE could use something like this and have Vitality and Piety diminish on death.
Have a healer at each Aertheryte/camp and one in each town, simples.

Which games are you speaking of that got rid of their repair function?http://www.ffxivcore.com/topic/32289-repairs/
Repairs prevent me from enjoying the game like i should, and im not the only one. You devs need to think up different gil sinks.
Every game i have played that has had a repair system ended up getting rid of it because its un-popular. Give us something we want to spend gil on, not spending money on something we already got.
IMO the only reason repairs are in game is cause they do not have anything to replace it with yet. You can see that every time they tweak repairs it gets easier and less bothersome... because it sucks.
With the materia system crafters are taken care of because gear is always being destroyed.
Its gonna happen eventually anyway, just do it.
A good reason for repairs is to give the crafting community an outlet to raise their ranks and be needed by the greater majority of players.

I rather have them keep repair in the game. I'm more afraid of SE implementing a loss of xp upon death in combat if repair is removed.

I read through this thread, it wasted 10min. of my life, which I will never get back.
Find something more worthwhile to argue about ppl, or at least make the thread more entertaining.
I see nothing wrong with the current repair system... hell, they've made it ridiculously easier with the last few patches. Or would you rather resort to buying a new weapon every time it broke because there wasn't any Spoken Blood on the market to fix it, which may have been more expensive than the actual weapon anyway, and possibly would not have worked? Would you rather pay a small fortune in gil to Gogorano just to get an item back up to 75%? If you're like me, just ask someone in your Linkshell to fix it for you for 1 gil or the same grade Dark Matter, or shout in town for a repair... or, I dunno, fix the item yourself because you put in the time to level up your crafting jobs in the first place.
And just for the record, being able to lose exp and de-level just because some random goblin or orc spawned right next to you and chased your ass all the way across the map and was still able to hit you from far away was one of the many reasons I quit FF11 years ago...![]()
