Isn't this kind of making an assumption that long time players will always eventually get a house? Because I know an awful lot of veterans without houses. A better way of phrasing it is how it rewards people who were lucky enough to have a house already.

Yep. 2 year veteran here. Have not been able to get a house yet myself. At first I was broke. Now I have the money and I cant buy anything.

Kinda glad i'm in the beta personal house day 1/ancient FC category.
I LOVE housing in this game, next to crafting and gathering. But if I picked up this game today and not 2013 i would be very sad/angry/salty rn

I did upgrade my medium in goblet to a large in Shirogane, im very happy about that but i understand why so many people are upset. FC and private alike not able to get their house due to various reasons.

But don't attack me for getting a house, that i saved up gil for and worked my ass off to get.

There is one thing people tend to forget: The system does not reward players who have played for a certain amount of time. It rewards players who can actually BE there when wards are opened. I know a lot of people who will likely never own a house, because wards always open up during morning times(in Europe they do). On a tuesday. By the time they return from work, plots will already be grabbed. Last time they even went as far as taking a day free. They were screwed by login server problems and error messages. Are they now supposed to be taking a day off every single time new wards are included? This is by no means the only flaw in the system. There are many more, and as long as the number of wards cannot be increased easily at-will, those problems will remain there for eternity.
