From what I understood, housing being "inaccessible" is not due to people's lack of ability to get the money to purchase one. Rather, it's due to shortage and unfortunate server problems such as patch crash or 1h+ queue time. Is it not understandable that they complain about housing being "inaccessible", especially given that they've worked so hard to get the money to purchase one? Frankly the only reason I have a house is most likely pure luck, given how I'm not even rich and play on Leviathan, which is the most populated world on primal datacentre. Many people work just as hard, if not harder, than me to get a house.

I really do sympathize with people who miss out because of server instability, and patch crash/server queues are something SE really needs to address. As for the overall accessibility of the housing market, simply having the money isn't enough. It's like saying "I've made it to level x, unlocked the dungeon, I shouldn't have to grind until my desired piece of gear drops, I should just be able to buy it". There's definitely an element of luck involved, and keenly watching the ward listings before getting lucky and grabbing an open plot is part of the process.

There are genuine issues with the housing system that absolutely need to be resolved, such as the obvious land shortage, hoarders, and the server issues that come up when housing is released, which unfairly prevents players from having a real shot at getting a house. The issue I have is with a certain part of the community demanding the entire system be shelved in exchange for instanced housing, saying it's unethical and greedy for players to own houses when FCs need them more, etc.

I sympathize with people who've been screwed over by hoarders, server crashes and long queues, but disagree with the people demanding an overhaul of the system because they can't be bothered being patient and playing the market like everyone else.

Ah, I see... so you are against instanced housing then? I'd reckon that is indeed quite unpopular opinion, but it makes more sense now; thank you for your explanation. I won't delve too much into this as I don't want to derail the thread into a housing topic that will undoubtedly start popping in the near future. I personally disagree with your opinion because I think instanced housing will solve many issues for both SE and players alike, but it's alright! The thread specifically mentions to let us speak our minds without the pressure of conformity. I brought this up simply because I was confused by your earlier statement
