Its my assumption that they did this because they wont be allowed to have multiple characters on the same servers in a FC together, thus denying them of the precious convenience of trading millions of gil to each other in a flash via the FC chest. The new restrictions are a pretty big pain in the tail for RMTers, so that's a good thing at least!

The main thing that really rubs me the wrong way about the whole housing thing is that people who privately own a house are free to relocate, even to a larger house. So after all this, previous owners are likely going to be the only ones who can even own a large, or maybe medium depending on server, privately. The rich get richer and those without a private house are up the creek.

I really do hope they allow players who don't own houses to garden. If they start allowing players to garden without houses some of the problems will be solved. Hopefully they learn to not gate so much content behind such a limited resource..

I can't like this enough. Gardening, airships, and now they added submarines. I get they want to encourage people to be in FCs, but even FCs can't access it if they don't have a house

A obvious solution would been to have wards for FC only or instanced but that will probably never happen.

I can see your logic but I don't think locking mansions to FC is a good idea. For 1 reason. Gardening. If they let me have 3 plots in my medium i would be fine. But I do a lot of gardening but 2 plots isnt enough for me. Gladly i'm the FC owner of a large house and me and my wife have each a medium so i do have access to 7 plots.

However i was hoping to upgrade my personal to large on the 6th.

I get their intentions allowing FCs to go first, but it's going to backfire hard, because well ... this is happening:

That's what i am planing to do, move from my medium to large. I do feel bad for the people who don't own a house currently and are frustrated at SE for locking out any of you who do not own a house and don't have same benefits.

A solution would been added workshop/airship/subs as a instanced zone from idk GC or something. Then housing wouldnt be a gated reason for FC's.

nah mansions shouldn't be fc only, me and my friends are making a great mansion and half the fcs we see let it go empty. personalty i think fc's should be limited to smalls because half the time they get a mansion and dont even allow there members to do jack with the house. until they remove that little button that says you cannot do this with housing in an fc. then no. i like decorating, i like collecting housing items and i like crafting them, dont like it oh well.

I totally agree. If I look in just my wards where i have both my personal house and my fc house its d-e-a-d and nothing decorated.

Guess that what you get when you play on a 6 month old server and everyone moved here to grab a house and then do nothing with it.
