    They have tons of VA in HW/SB and even ARR and they manage to do this by never referring to the character's name. They could alter the script slightly to "you" or "the warrior of light" or other forms of indirect communicaton - which is exactly what they do in the cutscenes that DO have VA.

    So that's not a good excuse. The cost is a good excuse (though one I think would be worth it, but I'm not exactly head of SE's budgeting and development), but not the names because that's easy enough to overcome without doing your ridiculous set up of trying out each name.
