Verity to Creation 1:4 ratio is nonsense

Why exactly is my 2000 verity I saved to apply to whatever job I finally decide to main, worth 500 creation? There was no warning given, and even if this has happened in other patches, Ive never been here for those. I certainly shouldnt have to chase ghosts and look over my shoulder in paranoia that SE is gonna screw me over.

I wouldnt even have minded only being able to buy 310 gear with my Verity post patch, and not the 330 stuff. However, Im literally screwed out of 3/4 of the effort I put in, saving for whatever I decide to main. Im sorry Ive only played this game for 2 months, though I have to say I definitely regret ever giving SE a penny.

So the answer you dont want to hear is that the trade in from an outdated and now useless currency to the current one has always been 4-1. Sure, it would have been nice if they had posted something reminding people of that but they didnt. I didnt get a chance to check before the emergency maintenance, but usually the older gear is available at a discounted price in the current currency - so you may retain some of your "old" value. However, youll likely have 2000 creation in no time(if you dont already), so equipping any job you finally decide to main will now get you better gear then it would have last week. Not to mention the new raid giving higher level gear and the new tomes buying higher level gear, youll end up in a better place overall.

Creation gear prices are exactly the same as before. This too is standard procedure.

Verity gear is now purchasable with centurio seals from the vendor in Rhalgr's Reach.

If its so outdated and useless let me get my useless 310 gear so i can have the ilvl for duty finder stuff at 70. Surely, theres no harm in letting me use currency THAT I EARNED? But of course, arbitrarily making it outdated and only 1/4 of it able to be put towards gear, instead of letting me buy Verity gear (remember, i DID say I wanted to be able to buy the 310 stuff NOT the 330 stuff, with my Verity), is completely reasonable. Like i said, sorry i ever gave SE money. With that attitude, you dont value your time. I dont expect the same amount of 330 gear from my 310 currency. I DO expect to be able to use 100% of the currency i earn. Thats the problem. Im not expecting 330 gear out of my Verity at all. I just want to be able to put all of the currency I EARNED to use. But of course, why should i expect people to realize this? So much easier to accuse people of a point they never made, and specifically clarified AGAINST in the OP.

As for the whole thing about it normally being 4:1, that was never mentioned anywhere. Im a pretty new player (like i said about 2 months) and Ive never been around for a currency conversion patch. if i had, id just bought 310 gear before the patch hit. So, at least itd have been put to use and not wasted. BUT OF COURSE, now fresh 70s have to grind creation at double the rate of Verity to even be able to participate in 70 content unless youre rich and buy gear off the MB, or have a FC that crafts it for you cheap. You cant get higher than 288 without the MB or a FC, unless you ... wait for it ... save currencies. Which were taken from me with no warning.

Oh, youre mentioning it to me after ive already been robbed of 3/4 of my effort, and SE gets to keep the money i spent on gametime i used to save it! Congrats, nice load of usefulness the info is NOW. Thats a Captain Obvious moment, since its quite obvious its the case since i was broadsided by it when the patch hit. Make sure new players know about this. If i was still with Chase Bank, id certainly get 100% of the money i gave SE for anything to do with this game back, and id feel no remorse whatsoever. Dishonesty is fraud, not being transparent about changes in the game that effect tangible efforts is fraud. But hey, since its a MMO and i didnt buy physical property, i cant file a "not as described" claim! Woohoo, game devs get to keep our money after screwing us over.

I can understand why you may think this, because the actual number is lower. You may think that your efforts have gone to waste but your efforts have been upgraded to the next currency, which is valued at the exchange rate. You haven't lost anything, and all players do the same thing.
It's like exchanging CAD to USD. My many many Canadian dollars become much less in American dollars. This is actually a transaction I do frequently. But the value of both are the same.

Uhh no. That is not at all how this works. It is not nearly the same, and you fail at math. You want the math? Here it is. 288 plus one 330 item is 291.5. 288 plus 310 accessories, chest and pants is 300.8 So uhh, you could get a fresh 70 in 288 gear into ilvl 300 duty finder with 2000 verity. You cant even get into a single 70 dungeon with one piece of 330. They have gone to waste, since i get 1/5 of the total ilvl increase from 500 Creation as 2000 Verity. Now id have to spend effort and money to re-earn currency that ilvl gain to even be able to get into a single 70 dungeon.

I think it because im not an ignorant dude that blathers on about stuff i dont understand. Also, i have the choice to convert currency in real life. I dont get that here. So that's moot.

Effort to get Verity tomes? Lol. It takes maybe 3 days of casual playing to max out Verity. So you’re getting an exchange rate equal to the effort involved to get them. So all the “effort” you did to get them can now be forwarded to Creation tomes, which means to can now get 330 gear faster than the players that had to max out at 450 every week.
