Early early this morning I think i read somewhere that there would not be any new disciples of the land/hand gear in patch 4.2 Is this correct? I forgot where I even seen it.

If so does that mean We should just continue to better meld our Ala mhigan crafting gear and should have no problems making the new recipes come patch 4.2? I can already craft the latest 320 stuff without issues. But since I can't prepare for housing I at least want to be able to prepare for making gil crafting wise.

Historically you will see new left side on the odd patches and right side on the even patches. If we were to get new gear it would be rings, etc and so you would be better to meld the Ala Mhigan gear.

There will be new gear, but it's won't be better than Ala Mhigan. It's going to be yellow scrip offhands and accessories.

We’re planning to do this in the next patch. New exchangeable items will be added, but there won’t be any gear update for those currently using the melded Ala Mhigan gear.

Well, they gave us the time to gear up our crafters now for the new recipes (DoW/M) classes coming in 4.2. They tend to do this. I would imagine there'd be the offhand/accessories in 4.2 released for us. Probably both in script and recipe form.

I would estimate yellow scrip offhand, belt, and accessories (not that they will be any good), potentially an augment, but I highly doubt that at this current time. Something to put those doing scrip gear on fairly equal footing with current stats to do 3* recipes with something like Warriors Stew. We've already got some obnoxious stats to say the least.

However I wouldn't be surprised we'll get special Eureka craftable on 4.25

According to this, there will be a set that competes with the Ala Mighan set. It will a higher item level than Ala Mighan, but won't have the overmeld slots. Ala Mighan will be better if its overmelded, but if you don't want to do that, you get the new set. Is this the new yellow scrip gear?

Looks like it. This has traditionally been the case with the crafting gear - you can get a set without overmeld slots that will allow you to do endgame crafting, but there is a crafted set that you can overmeld with better stats if you're willing to invest in it, that will give you an easier time crafting.

The scrip gear never had the materia slots before though. Materia slots even without the overmelds will make them a lot more useful. Also there has been no mention of anything about upgrading the AF3 and the carbonweave was mention, so its maybe a new set that looks just like Ala Mighan gear (different color? can't dye it?). Not being exclusive to each class will make the scrip gear even more useful than its ever been.
